Thorn Wilde Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Reminded of this by a friend's words this morning. Love this cover. 2
Thorn Wilde Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 My favourite band at one point, PUSA have such wonderfully inane and nonsensical lyrics.
Former Member Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 This fits my current mood: Good Times by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein featuring Christine Aprile When We Rise soundtrack I also like Thinking of You by Austin McKenzie from the same soundtrack
MrM Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) I'm freezing in the frost now. Don't you feel a little lost now. Things never turn out how we want it to be We close our eyes and we count to three As if we live in a lucid dream We'll play pretend till we finally feel free So let us dance while we're under the spell I'm sure the poet always only means well We take our turns in a show and tell We'll play pretend till we finally feel free Edited January 25, 2019 by MrM
Thorn Wilde Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) Omg, I found this yesterday and it's the greatest thing ever! Warning: I've counted 36 uses of the F-word in this song. So, don't watch if that bothers you, I guess. Edited January 27, 2019 by Thorn Wilde 2
Marty Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) This was always my favourite song from Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell II album, but when I saw the video to it it made my appreciation of it all that much more intense. Some of the imagery still leaves me reaching for the tissues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37GrbCUvZEM Edit: Maybe some kind soul could explain how to insert a YouTube link properly to me... It's supposed to be automatic. You paste the link and the video is meant to appear. I guess maybe your browser might not support it, but I'm not a programmer, so I don't know. You can also click the share button on YouTube, select 'embed', copy the code it gives you, select 'code' in the editor here (looks like <>), paste the code and click 'insert into post', and it should appear as a video. 2

Thanks, Thorn! I'll try the 'code' in the editor next time I try posting a link to a video. 2
Thorn Wilde Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 (edited) Have a bit of Swedish folk! This is Jan Hammarlund, gay Swedish folk singer who's been out basically his whole career. This song from 1979 is about being a teenage boy and being in love with another boy. It's adorable. Lyrics roughly translated by me: Spoiler I want to tell the whole wide world that I'm in love with Ville When he plays his violin he's the cutest boy on the planet he's the cutest boy on the planet Ville's mum doesn't want him and me to be together Cause we never do our homework, we just make out instead we just make out instead Ville's dad has said that he never wants to see us together again But we meet up every night anyway and pretend to play ping-pong Our teacher has said that Ville and I better not do anything stupid We never make it to the football field, we stay in the changing room we stay in the changing room The counsellor says that this is just a phase that we're going through But if it passes I don't want to live without him don't want to live without him Mum and dad are okay, though dad just hangs out at the pub But if they won't let us have our love I'll tell them to go to hell I'll tell them to go to hell Ville is sweet and Ville is good and Ville tastes like honey But neither of us is eighteen yet so neither of us is legal At home they've said that if we do it again they will call the cops That's why we've done it almost everywhere except for in bed Except for in bed But it's so nice to be in the park in the warm winds of summer When the blood runs hot in every vein and the air lights on fire I want to tell the whole wide world that I'm in love with Ville And he's told me that I am the sweetest boy on the planet the sweetest boy on the planet I actually know Jan personally, and he's just the sweetest guy you could ever imagine.
