Ephialtes Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 You sure were right! Good one!!!! Here is your original post: You were right about Eric filming them and making money off the porn site! Hehe, thanks See, in the end, I really don't care if I'm right or wrong, because the story is just so damned good Making us wait till Tuesday though... I think that makes you evil.
EMoe57 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Now what is it?????? Hmmmmmm.... (Goats have poor memories, ya know...) Why does this goat sound like a sheep?
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted March 20, 2007 Site Moderator Posted March 20, 2007 As far as the data stick, how knows what's on it. I think it's safe to say that Eric used it from home and that is what Dex is coming over to tell them. It could be a porn ring, but I don't think so. It's something bigger. You can get the same hot, sticky feeling with leather sets as well, so that's why I didn't pay much attention to it.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted March 20, 2007 Site Administrator Posted March 20, 2007 A good chapter -- though I am amazed at how many guys would comment to a complete stranger that they thought they recognised them from a gay porn site. The risks if they got it wrong would be too high. I know none of them mentioned it was gay porn site, but still.... Two options on the data stick -- Eric used it at home, or he did the same thing Dex did and got a copy As for the ending, I'm happy to wait to find out what happened.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted March 20, 2007 Site Administrator Posted March 20, 2007 I sincerely doubt that there is a microphone to the website because otherwise it would have been very clear that the boys names were NOT Shawn and Chase. Yeah, it would have only been while someone was watching that they would have heard their real names, but I don't think Eric would have taken that risk. Still, I agree that the boys and the cops had to be cautious and assume the worst.
C James Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) Hehe, thanks See, in the end, I really don't care if I'm right or wrong, because the story is just so damned good Making us wait till Tuesday though... I think that makes you evil. Wow, thanks!! But me? Evil? Why does this goat sound like a sheep? Because that's the closest emotion I have... You can get the same hot, sticky feeling with leather sets as well, so that's why I didn't pay much attention to it. Yup, but I am trying to keep things realistic, so I fixed it. As for the Data Stick, a minor spoiler; Dex is indeed coming over to tell them something. A good chapter -- though I am amazed at how many guys would comment to a complete stranger that they thought they recognised them from a gay porn site. Good point on the recognitions, I did stretch that a bit in the amount, though more will be explained on that in Ch 19 and 20. But, overall you are right on that. The manner of the recognitions, though, is based on what I've seen happen to guys who post their pics widely online, including pay cams. A third option on the data stick: Space aliens are involved... Altimexis Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Very nice. Another great chapter! I think Graeme's on the money regarding the data stick. Eric did the same thing Dex did - he bought an identical data stick (or maybe he had some left over) and did a simple swap. Open and shut case. Now the question is left is who fired that gunshot at the end, and was someone shot in the process. :ranger:
Jack Scribe Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Very nice. Another great chapter! I think Graeme's on the money regarding the data stick. Now the question is left is who fired that gunshot at the end, and was someone shot in the process. The data stick is getting too sticky. Cliffhangers are good on occasion. However, the hanging treads (as opposed to chads) are pretty worn on this story. A terrific chapter but CJ needs to turn the page. Hopefully we won't have to wait a week for the next installment. Eric is not only a bad dude...but a rich one. Could the fundy guys be financing their "church" with proceeds from the internet porn site? Jack

Could the fundy guys be financing their "church" with proceeds from the internet porn site? Jack I don't actually admit to using cliffhangers, ever. Cues CJ to come in and tell everyone that Eric is just misunderstood.... Well, yes, he is just misunderstood. He's proven himself to be very industrious, a real entrepreneur! That waitress in the bank who commented on Chris and Steve's looks back in Chapter six gave him an idea, and he went for it! He even offered to cut Chris and Steve in for a percentage! And, well, if he did blab to the Sheriff and cause the bookstore snatch attempt (and one-way ride), well, I'm sure he had good intentions. Besides, aren't all little brothers a bit of a nuisance on occasion?
Low Flyer Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Besides, aren't all little brothers a bit of a nuisance on occasion? I think we may be just beyond 'a bit of a nuisance'... This is an amazing story, even if I could do you actual bodily harm for leaving us in the lurch like this! Keep up the good work, LF
ethan thorn Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 AHHHHHHHHHH, no whats going to happen next why such a short chapter damn it i am prolly going to rip my hair out waiting for the next chapter. and since i have long hair thats going to be a big mess.
kojaky Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 great chapter! Quite scary though with the webcam, strangers watching/hearing you, and then hearing a gun shot. Darn, and i was rooting for Eric to be good. Looking forward to the next chapter

This is an amazing story, even if I could do you actual bodily harm for leaving us in the lurch like this! Keep up the good work, LF Thanks LF!!! Don't worry, the mysterious gunshot isn't really a cliffhanger, becuase I don't admit to ever using cliffhangers at all. AHHHHHHHHHH, no whats going to happen next why such a short chapter damn it i am prolly going to rip my hair out waiting for the next chapter.and since i have long hair thats going to be a big mess. Oh no! Don't pull you hair out! Long hair is rare these days as is... The next chapter will be out in a few days (Well, five more, as it will be online Tuesday). And just for you, in the interest of hair preservation, I'll share the title: Fire in the Hole. great chapter! Quite scary though with the webcam, strangers watching/hearing you, and then hearing a gun shot. Darn, and i was rooting for Eric to be good. Looking forward to the next chapter Thanks Kojaky! Don't count Eric out yet; he might just turn out to be the hero. ;-) I still thing he's just a little misunderstood.
Bondwriter Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Damn! Just as we were about to know more from Dex. I hope Eric did not manage to get his hands on a firearm and take his own life. Man, Steve and Chris, review your knots! Didn
EMoe57 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Wading in on the 'plausible' factor: Having someone you've fantasized about appear in the flesh is quite a draw. Nightclubs pay for porn star appearances because it draws a crowd. Having two people in their tiny hometown may be a little stretch, but two in the biggest mall in Phoenix - not a problem. And I didn't get there was anything on the website to indicate the featured participants were NOT aware they were being filmed. In this day and age of voyeuristic TV, and even more common - live Internet websites, viewers can easily assume those they are watching KNOW they are being watched but are acting like they aren't to produce a more 'natural' show. That's my two cents... :graduated:

That's my two cents... :graduated: I'm with you on this, EMoe. The only thing, in my mind, that would have been more plausible would be "older" dudes hitting on Steve and Chris. Frankly, I'm glad CJ didn't take us there. I'm also with CJ regarding Eric. He's being needlessly maligned by many of the readers. It's just business, guys! Ok, CJ, I did what you asked. Make sure you send me the next chapter in advance!
Site Administrator Graeme Posted March 24, 2007 Site Administrator Posted March 24, 2007 Wading in on the 'plausible' factor: Having someone you've fantasized about appear in the flesh is quite a draw. Nightclubs pay for porn star appearances because it draws a crowd. The difference is that the patrons KNOW it is who they have been fantasizing about. In this case it is two guys in a public place with NO confirmation that they are the people they have seen on the internet. Oh, and given that these were minature cameras, I'm not expecting that they will be production quality images, either. The optics usually determine picture quality and minature cameras don't have great optics. As for something else that has been mentioned, Eric has stated he has friends who have been helping him. He may be bluffing, but I think in this case it is likely. Obtaining all the equipment required AFTER his dad has effectively frozen his account implies financial backing. As Chris's apartment was also bugged, and it is remote from the house, that implies some electrical/electronic skills, since he would have to either regularly change batteries, or somehow conceal the connection to the power supply for the camera and wireless router for the images to get to his computer for routing to the internet. The camera's in Steve's room could have been powered by the USB cable from the computer, but not the ones in Chris's apartment.
Jack Frost Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I also wonder if the crazy Piedmont sheriff or one of his conies have been watching them from that camera. That could be a possiblity, hoping they'll know the location of the diskstick. Maybe because Eric hasn't taken it because he already knows it's fake and bugged.

You forgot -- the hidden program on the datastick has been activated.
Jack Frost Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 You forgot -- the hidden program on the datastick has been activated. I don't get it though... I thought it was mentioned that the hidden stick was still in the desk. Steve and I made a beeline for Mr. William's office. Steve handled the call. I noticed the desk drawer was open. I glanced in, and noted that the booby-trapped Data Stick was still in place, not stolen as we had hoped. Ok, I read that Dex got something from it. Perhaps Eric took it...tried to get it in...failed...and put the stick back in the desk.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted March 24, 2007 Site Administrator Posted March 24, 2007 That's why I said that either Eric has done a switch with ANOTHER datastick of the same type, or, as others have suggested, he grabbed the datastick, used it to copy off the contents, and then put it back.
Jack Frost Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Ok, never mind. I should read harder what the other said.
old bob Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Once more, the comments of this chapter are even more interesting than the chapter itself.... A new cliffhanger after others, and a big one : a gunshot (remember : I like rifles and guns). BTW, I have just one problem : the developement of the story has so many aspects that it becomes difficult to remember what happened in the former chapters. Could not the author write a little quicker, perhaps one chapter a day, instead loosing his time in answering so many posts in forums and blogs, answers certainly important and interesting, but less than his story ?
