My...my...my...I think we forget that Mhairi is going through a difficult separation with her husband, we have clashing with someone deeply rooted in the teachings of the Brethren, and a wife disgusted by the bed hopping of a pedophile husband...at the same time she is finding out that the Brethren isn't espousing a life she wants to live. She's trying to find her footing in a world gone sideways, and that's before she finds out her parents, who are supposed to cherish, nuture, and love her, do anything but...they cheat her and her brother out of a rightful inheritance, finding out her brother was different, that difference having him leaving the house once school is out...not on his own accord...and the last lie told that he just upped and disappeared, Leaving Mhairi alone and trapped in a world determined to control her and tie her ever closer to her husband and parents...It isn't difficult to understand her frustrations as she tries to become an independent person... Had Owain thought this thru a bit better, a donation from an anonymous benefactor enabling Joe to attend the summer course may have been the best way to go...but then there wouldn't be a reason for my lengthy rant... I believe the complexity of the human brain can never be duplicated. It stands to reason that artificial intelligence, while capable of complex reasoning, will never be able to, as @Al Norris states, to function on the basis of curiosity. AI will always function according to a complex set of rules, programming, and methods. It will take some doing, and I can't see it happening, to function extemporaneously... Now...when is the next stasis cycle and how long will it last? What of earth, what news do we have on conditions? What of the other Arks?

While every legal nuance and complexity is exhausted...I've been saying it all along...the sperm donor is only doing this because there is a scintilla of a monetary gain...the real hoot would be that there is in fact, funds/property left to the boys but it is left in such a manner that crap for brains, will never be able to touch a single red cent of it...while somehow losing in the courts and ends up owing his legal representation lots o bucks!!!

Something about Russ concerns me, I get a strong feeling that due to his personal environment/background, that he is substituting true affection towards one that is the result of gentle or monetary coercion...To me, he is a user of people to satisfy needs, rather than take the time to naturally develop a romantic relationship. I continue to be very impressed with Toby!
