Depends on the story, and if I'm doing more than one "chapter." I like chapter titles that are linked to the content of the chapter itself. However, I totally borked one story here on GA with the chapter titles.

Yeah, there was a clear climax and ending for this story, once I started to write. Keyword there is this story. I have plans for a couple of more with Adam, Rob, Duncan, Giles, Brayon, Chandon, and Jill, in the future. Some authors can do the "neverending story" approach, but I feel that would be a disservice to the characters and readers. Yes, the boat was in there for you. 😺

@rockycs Thanks for reading, and for the feedback, gonna grab your questions and answer them how I did it. Please note, some of this is fictionalized, but I did my best keeping it under real-world laws in two different states. From my understanding of reading Massachusetts law is this. If a child is born out of wedlock, the father's name is not added to the birth certificate. At any time, before the child turns 18, if the father is added to the document, the state will automatically seek back child support, and 1/2 of Medical Ins payments after a paternity test. In the confines of the story, the grandfather Matthew Turner forced a paternity test which triggered the state to seek back monies. The Monthly amount of $1013 a month in support, was the un-official amount from a Paternity website for MA, and one of their online calculators. Based on an avg monthly income of $4500.00 for Adam over 16 years. The medical insurance, I used an Obamacare calculator, and that was the cost for a single person per month for a silver plan. In the will, Michelle stipulated that the house and contents were Rob's but were to be sold, and money placed in a trust fund, for Robert until he turned 21. A loophole I found in FL law, and it looked like it was mirrored in MA law, was that the guardian of the minor had control of real-estate until the minor became of age. The judge that Matthew Turner went to, was one of the corrupt officials that was caught in the FBI sting. So, in order to keep Matthew Turner from causing headaches, Adam was going to buy the place before the deadline. However, what was not in the chapter above, was that the order became void once it went through a review after the judge was arrested. Score another for Tibs! This will be in the next book.

I wish that would be the case too. Another element that is true in this story, and I copied it for My Son, was Brayon's parents were Democrats. True blooded, card-carrying, I voted for Bill Clinton, Democrats. Without getting political, and with facts to back it up from the CDC study I got my homeless youth stats from, Gay youth being disowned and kicked out of their homes crosses all demographics. Rich, Poor, White, Black, Evangelical, Atheist, Republican, or Democrat... it does not matter. It happens all over the country too. I went with reality in this story, and got a very nasty PM from someone saying "the left would never do that." Sadly, they do.

Thank you for reading, Bft! All my stories have some elements from my life in them. In this one, the characters Brayon and Chandon are based on two High School friends, who were a couple. Brayon's parents did disown him, and Chandon's did take him in. The names are different, and most is fictionalized, but that was the key element.
