  1. This was one of the best SciFi love stories, I have ever read. Gaberial and Ryle are fantastic characters, and the story compelled me to finish it in one sitting. Fantastic all around.

    Harbours

Lovely poems tim. I feel inadequate at times in expressing myself, but you have a way with words that I envy good sir. There is a side to GA that I love, and it's the friendship I've found with you and the others in the DIC.

    Lesson #2

This is very good, and insightful Mac. I'm loving this story. Very informative.
  6. I can agree with this. As both a Writer and an avid Roleplayer, being able to connect with a character is key to making the story come alive. One of the longest running Pen-and-Paper Role-Playing Game I was a part of lasted over 7 years. (Before our Gamemaster passed away.) We played weekly, and sometimes 3 or 4 times a week. Just depended on people's schedules. It was a very intense, realistic, game for us. Even though, characters came and went, the same storyline persisted with many different arcs. I have a lot of fond memories from the game itself, and just the interaction with the other players. Yeah, we had rules, dice, a way to measure the success of actions taken, but the story came alive for us. When I started this thread, it was mainly about excess emotional baggage surrounding characters, but I've learned a lot of insight from you other writers. Thank you all.

    Chapter 1

tim. This was a very powerful opening. I loved it. It's 8:00 am for me, and someone is cutting onions in the next room. *wipes tears* Looking forward to more hun. You've got a blessed talent.

    Being Real

Loved them tim. Thank you for posting them.
  9. I've seen that one before. It's one of the exceptions of a Good American Made Gay Film.
  10. A little late, but I voted for Book 3. Though the new Fantasy one is starting off great.
  11. I forgot to tell Molly. We made this over the weekend. There were no leftovers.
  12. Thanks! I left some of the more embarrassing parts out. Like I accidentally sat on a scrub cactus on day 4 and had to get First Aid done.
  13. I was 15yo, and it was with the same guy that took my virginity. It was the third night of our five days of Wilderness Emergency Preparedness. We were paired by random happenstance, give our five days of MREs, and Water Purification tablets, and dropped off out in the woods on the Scout Reservation by ourselves. Spent the first day getting to know each other, as we built our Shelter out of downed limbs, palm fronds, and lashing twine. Made a firepit, gathered a ton of wood, and built our fire which we kept going once we got it lit. Even though it was Summer and 90+ degrees(F) out. We caught each other checking out the other, and by day two we came out to each other as being Gay. No one made a move towards the other until the next night. That's when one thing led to another, and the kiss happened. It was a First Timer's kiss for me, but he was more experienced. We were outside the shelter by the fire, talking, and it just happened. Then the thunder roared, rain started to fall, and we ended up drenched in the shelter we built, stripping down out of wet clothes, and I'll let you guess what happened next. We ended up in a Long Distance Relationship for 3+ years and broke up after that. (See my Blog for more on that.) That guy is now living in D.C. and is getting married soon.
  14. After seeing another Author on GA do it, I totally took the idea and created a Wikia for the Guardian Force Saga. Link is on my Profile page, and it's a work in progress.
  15. I've read a few of these, and I love tim's poems. An excellent Author Review!
  16. I want to thank @Kittfor going back, and re-editing the first two sections of the story. Some minor alterations were also done besides the editing.

    A New Life

After some personal debate, I've decided that this story is at its end. Thank you all for reading it.
  18. Have I mentioned how much I hate that guy? LOL. While this narration is not 100% what happened in our RPG game, I can say in the game where the character was influenced from, that version of Doctor Thomas ended up slowly being tortured, and eventually killed by an assassin. We stumbled upon the aftermath, of him being partially skinned alive. Not sure, if I'll put that in the story. I have another end for him in mind that's not so gruesome.
  19. I love the story behind how Dreamspinner Press was formed too. I've been a customer of that site for a long time now,
  20. I recently used a Dream Sequence in Aeris, as the opening for Act 2 - Part 3. Our hero Aeris, was captured, and underneath a magical sleep spell which was designed to make the "sleeper" relive a memory. I took a scene from The House of Aeris story and twisted it to be the magical induced vision. I think I pulled it off well (no one has complained about it ), and I firmly believe that Dream Sequences are a legitimate form of expression in a story. Was planning on doing a couple of more, before Aeris' story is finished. Normally, I agree with the "Author trying to make this all real, then WHAM PLOT TWIST," is a turn-off, but seeing as that's sorta what I did, I think I would be hypocritical to say I hate it entirely. I think the only time I dislike them is when they serve no purpose. Much like Tolkien and his "Gandolf sees a rock, and then goes on a twenty-page history lesson of how that rock got there." I hate Tolkien, by the way. It's the one case where the Movies are a thousand times better than the books. So, that's my two coppers on the subject, and I'm babbling like a brook right now.
  21. Thank you for reading. I seem to have a pattern of "things end on a good note." I think I need to change that.
