  1. Ratings are subjective based on the reviewer. What I rate as 5 Stars, someone else might rate as 1 Star. So we don't need "guidelines," of what is worthy of XX Stars... That stinks of totalitarian group think. Take it as a compliment that someone felt your story was worth 5 stars in their opinion. For the record, I've reviewed and rated stories on this site according to my tastes and views. Most that I've done have been 5 Stars, some are 4. Again, that is my opinion of that specific story's worth.
  2. The government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. Thomas Paine
  3. You're welcome.
  4. I love 2Cellos! Their Now We Are Free Cover from the movie Gladiator is awesome!
  5. Still looking for this story. Anyone know what site it's on? It's not on GA, or my search-fu really sucks.
  6. Thank you, Myr. Looking forward to any feedback, you (or anyone else) has.
  7. Chapter 6, is yet another great chapter tim. I really feel for both boys, and hope they can pull through this.

    Chapter 6

Wow. It is a major hurdle for the boys to overcome. I think they will overcome it eventually, but I think there is going to be a lot of sleeping apart. Great chapter tim.

    For tim

tim is not the only poet in the family, I see. That was beautiful Mike. tim is lucky to have you, in his life.
  10. Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith, Joel Goldsmith, and Danny Elfman are all in my Writing Music Queue.
  11. If I wanted "slice of life" or realism, all I need to do is walk out my bedroom door. No thank you. Give me a Good SciFi or Fantasy story any day of the week. Escapism, that's what I want. How the character develops in an Escapism story, is of little concern. The story can be Dark or an HEA, but the main focus should be to put the reader in a whole nother world. Life is too short to read about the Real World.
  12. I just wrote a prompt, where the lead is killed.
  13. For Journies:
  14. I've posted a few of these to my status update and thought I would share it with them with the club. Redemption:
  15. @Kitt is an awesome editor.
  16. “Just tell me which room is his, now!” The Officer yelled as Doug tried to block his way. “You can’t go down there, Sir!” Doug yelled back and held onto the larger man who outranked him. “I have orders, from someone higher than you.” The officer struggled more, before some MPs came over, and helped restrain him. “I’ll have your stripes Sergeant. You can guaran-fucking-tee that.” Doug cringed inwardly but showed resolve as he stared down the Officer. “Begging your pardon, Sir
  17. I've noticed a trend on comments, and it was on a few that I looked at. I'll use my stories as an illustration. It's not just how well your story is, or if someone finds it ok enough to write a comment, BUT the Type of story seems to matter as well. For Example: In 24-48 hours, my story called A New Life and a New Home gained over 23 reactions, and 4 user comments. It is a Drama/Romance story about 2 teens, and no sex. In 24 hours a new chapter in Aeris - Guardian Force has gotten 10 reactions and no comments. This is the 11th chapter (Prologue + 10 chapters) in this story. Aeris is a SciFi story and has two other companion pieces which are stand-alone. I forget how many Views the first story got, I think around 500, in that same window, but the new chapter has just over 180 views as of this posting. So it seems, that not only if the commenter feels your story is worthy of a comment, but what type of story it is as well. I remember commenting on this, in a Group PM, back when I posted New Life/New Home. But, it's something others have noticed as well.
  18. When the original version came out as a forum game, I enjoyed it a lot. This version of the same story fleshes out a lot of what was in the mini-version. I found to be fantastic, and well done in thought, flow, and character interaction. My only complaint is it's very hard to read. Due to how it posted to the website, it's like one long block of text. Despite that, I'm still rating it five stars.
  19. I can confirm it on my laptop. Firefox 54, and Windows 10. EDIT:
  20. I'm loving the story a lot. Almost done with the first book.
  21. I was reading a story last night, and then read one of the chapter comments. While it's not my story, I felt the comment was uncalled for. Part of the criticism this Author got was, "Your story is too white." I paused reading that. However, the commenter quickly followed up with, "Not race-wise, but chromatic color-wise. The story was too white." What the hell does that even mean? The story was an atypical M/M Love Story, with a bit of supernatural flair. I'm guessing the Reader felt that the Author didn't make it dark/serious enough. Still, are we as the Author of our stories the ones to determine the tone of our stories? If I wanted to do a Disney-esque, Sunshine and Lollipops, Unicorns farting glitter, story, isn't that my prerogative?
  22. Act 3 - War and Remembrance - Part 1 is now live.
  23. Chapter 11: “Since the Battle of Gilese Prime two years ago, we have seen nothing but losses. We’ve lost 1/3 of the outer colonies to the Thorian Empire, and the refugees and evacuees are overcrowding the Home System, and Lower Orion Arm colonies. We need to seek out a peaceful settlement with the Thorians, and send a delegation immediately.” The Jovian Ambassador, Nicholas Smith, stated to the news host. Though the three on the screen were not in the same room, much less on the same planet
