Fourteen-year-old Daniele Ferrero and his best friend Giacomo are finally finishing middle school. As they embark on the endless summer holidays amidst the mountains and olive groves of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, they begin to grow closer. But will Giacomo prove worthy of Daniele’s affections?

Meanwhile, Daniele’s other best friend Marco is waiting in the wings, and he suspects that Giacomo’s motives are anything but selfless.

Conversations are short vignettes in sets of three that check in on members of the Sanitaria Springs universe. They frequently happen between other stories and may reference events that occur in other stories.

In this third and final book in the Wearing Green On Thursday series, Bruce Hutton has graduated from college and is on his way to a new career in the aerospace industry outside Seattle. He leaves behind his several lovers, especially Detective Winston Buchanan, who was killed on duty and left Bruce bereft. Will Bruce mature in this new phase of his life, or will he childishly pursue casual sex without caring or loving?

When Owen Liston is invited to join a Nature Conservancy delegation traveling to Havana, his husband, CJ Abelló, tags along. He claims there was no chance he would pass up the opportunity to visit Cuba. This is the second story in the Wearing Green on Thursday series. Bruce Hutton has graduated from high school, gone on a road trip, loved and lost his best friend, and is now an engineering student at Stanford University outside Palo Alto, California. We follow his life and loves as he becomes comfortable living as a gay man in the 1980s.
