He gets it only to have it called in for that weekend. His niece has just graduated college. Now he will need to deal with snow storms, delayed flights, young adults, a crush, and a fall. Pat will have to deal it all, just maybe later.

This time, the four are on the trail of a lost place of the ancient Hartonin. They set out to follow those clues, and quickly find themselves off on a totally unexpected chase across time, involving the most interesting artifact they have encountered yet!

Boccaccio's Decameron, a story of renewal and recreation in defiance of a decimating pandemic, relates how ten self-isolated Italians pass the time regaling each other with tall tales during the Black Plague. While Covid19 wasn't nearly as decimating, the opportunity for such entertainment did exist. As a takeoff on that idea, this short story might well be a modern version of one of the tales, recounting events of earlier, less stressful times.

Early in his experience of being locked down in Hillside High School with many other refugees who are fleeing the current zombie outbreak in Chicago, 16 year old Sonny tries to find pleasure within the pain.
