This is the first part of a two parter short story i wrote recently. The tale is based on a dream I had as a young man. Its set in the none to distant future, the world is in turmoil and the UK has been invaded.

Sometimes what doesn't kill you makes you scarred for a lifetime, sometimes it is really hard to realize how much you hurt other people, and sometimes you don't realize how much they hurt you. You need a lot of courage and fear to be able to commit suicide, but even to be able to stay alive.
