Owain returns to live in his home town, 20 years after leaving when he was disowned his parents for being gay. He needs to rebuild his life following illness and come to terms with his messy family history. There is much to learn and discover, along the way he meets Colin, a builder who has his own family issues. The two explore how to make a life the way that they want, irrespective of the weight of their family experiences.

The story takes place in Cheshire, UK. The main setting, Netherwich, is my invention based on elements of Crewe and Nantwich. The language uses some regional idiom.

Evin and Ben were boyfriends for over two years in college, but their lives went in very different directions after they graduated. Now, years later, they meet again in a new city when Evin hurts himself. Ben is an emergency room resident when he'd always planned to be a hot shot plastic surgeon. Evin has a son, and his entire demeanor is different. Can they bridge the gap years placed between them or was their first parting destined to be repeated?

When he meets the sickly Cale, Jeremiah has to come to grips with the possibility that maybe there is someone out there for him. The biggest holdback for Jeremiah, Cale is human. Jeremiah has watched many lovers wither and die, and has since stayed far away from romantic entanglements. Can Cale and Jeremiah overcome the odds, or is there no hope of bridging the mortal chasm between them.

Nick's father dies and he goes to the family owned school before he takes over the family business at Christmas.

In Newport for a wedding, CJ’s confronted from the right by a Donald Trump acolyte and from the left by an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fan. In both instances, he deftly refutes their arguments, impressing the groom’s father sufficiently he offers CJ a job.
