Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 24. Family

The third of three I wrote last Christmas.  I was apparently in a Dr. Seuss mood.  Thankfully no Grinch involved :)

The castles great hall was brimming with guests,

All celebrating their holiday cheer with zest.

So many new faces it’s hard to keep track,

As I wander around your warm loving pack.

Aunts and uncles and cousins abound,

While brothers and sisters all gather round.

From far and near they’ve come to this town;

To welcome a new wolf with joyous sound.

My instinct had been to run and flee,

But the smile on your face fills my heart with glee.

The merriment of your family is easy to see;

What a wonderful Christmas you’ve given to me.

Nearly a year later, I still thank my wonderful boy for convincing me to go spend Christmas with his family.

I like the finish to your trilogy! I like the Seuss-ness of the poem.  I especially enjoyed the message about the joy being with family can be. Thank you.

Thank you, Jeff. It was fun to write. I'd forgotten to post it last year and when I remembered, the season had passed. For someone who is uncomfortable with the idea of family, they made me feel welcome. Made me part of the family.
