Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 8. New Life

A new foal arrives

In patches of brown and white,

And small as a pup;

As he takes his first few steps,

I marvel at this new life

We had a birth today at the horse farm where I work. A beautiful miniature horse named Chance who stands all of twenty-one inches tall. He’s adorably cute, likes to be held and sleeps in the lap of his giant stuffed teddy bear.

Sir, The vulnerability and love you show in this is beautiful. New life is beautiful, even the rebirths. xo

Thank you JP :hug:I love my horses.  They keep me sane so I can deal with humanity. lol.  Miniatures aren't something I deal with much, but this foal is just beyond cute.  It's like having a new puppy around.

I think I need to have a chat with Tim. He threw out the suggestion to you to try a poetry prompt. You have taken the ball and really run with it! I'm tempted to say Tim created a monster, 😉 but your poems keep getting better and better! I love this short poem about the new foal. It creates a vivid picture on my head. And the postscript was a nice extra touch. Thanks, Wolf.

Lovely chapter. The horse sounds adorably cute.

Thank you Chris.  He is :)  It's fun watching him explore his new world on his second day of life.

Thanks Jeff.  Technically I wanted to try poetry and ask tim for suggestions on learning and improving.  He's encouraged me like AC and several others have :)

This is especially touching. Thank you for sharing a snapshot from your life.

Thank you as always Parker.  It was fun for me trying to put this experience into words.  I'm around foals every year, but this mini horse being born is something special.
