Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 16. Ghoulish Delight

A cool slime runs through my fingers,

As I deal with my next victim.

At times, it almost seems cruel,

The way I gut one after another without feeling;

Laughing in ghoulish delight as they fall before me.

I reach for my kit of torture implements,

Looking from blade to blade as I make my choice.

Picking up my favorite blade first, I start to cut;

Removing bits of flesh here and there,

While I hold my latest victim in place.

The mutilations I’ve caused begin to take shape

And have their desired effect as an image begins to form;

To let others who find this know I’ve been here.

With a final deranged laugh, I look at my handy work,

As one more carving comes to life,

On the body of a defenseless pumpkin.

Happy Halloween to all

This was wonderful Sir. Witty and funny. A glimpse into a piece of you. I love the passion you have found in life and poetry.

the 1st line... and i knew. i have done that many, many times. i once did 16 in 24 hours as prizes in a Halloween Haunted House we put on. all very intricate, not as much as yours, but detailed witches, headless horsemen, Frankenstein and werewolves. good times, brought back by great words

Thanks jp :hug:  I've been having a lot more fun exploring poetry then I thought I would.  As much as I like story writing, there is a joy in these mini stories that allow me to explore a thought, mood or experience.  If it hadn't been for AC, tim and the rest of you, I wouldn't have had the confidence to try this.

do you have a favorite? my favorite was a two pumpkin job. the large pumpkin was an owl sitting on the outside of a window with square window panes. the smaller pumpkin, was of a witch at her caldron, brewing something. i cut the bottom of the large one and slipped it over the lit, smaller one.

Not sure if I have a favorite.  Most any of the wolves I've done probably.  I did one of Ironman two years ago that came out really good.
