Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 25. The Sentinels
Snow capped peaks surround.
Silent sentinels watching;
Protecting the lands,
And streams flowing below them;
As wondrous awe consumes me.
******
A familiar road –
Cattle grazing on one side
Across from horses;
Several whinny and some snort,
Welcoming you and me home.
******
You see me tapping away,
Trying to capture my thoughts.
Glancing around I take in what I see.
Beauty surrounds on all sides
As we head to your childhood home
Yet none of natures offerings
Can compare to my wonderful boy.
I wasn't planning on writing while I'm away for Christmas, but some sights and emotions just can't be denied their dues.
