Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 30. Winter Wonderland

Dark grey clouds fill the sky,

As white flakes dance in the cold air.

Transforming the landscape,

Into a winter wonderland.

 

The change is dramatic,

As the ranch takes on a new look.

Just as beautiful;

Yet so different from before.

 

The cattle huddle close,

As the herd combines its warmth.

The animals turn white,

From snow building on their bodies.

 

The wildlife of the range,

Goes about its daily routine;

Hunting and foraging,

To survive until the next meal.

 

We ride through the snow storm,

As there is work yet to be done.

Beside the man I love;

This is our winter wonderland.

It's vivid the way you describe the animals standing together and getting coated with snow. The ending is again very touching and heartwarming. Bravo

Thank you AC :)  I think that is becoming one of the joys of poetry for me, painting a picture of something with 20 words instead of 1000+. Your guidance has been invaluable to me.

Thank you, tim :hug: You're one of very few who I think pick up on that. I really wasn't paying attention to that aspect of my writing. It makes me smile, but your right... Both my boy and my life make me feel very happy. xoxo
