Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 31. Blood of the Wolf Moon

On this cold winter night

The pack awaits the rising moon

Like the wolves of the past

Our howls carry into the night

The moon's song calls out

As its bright light is devoured

And darkness fills the night

We prepare for the next phase

Blood fills our companion

As he takes on an eerie glow

Signaling time to hunt

Calling us to feed our hunger

My mate is in my sights

As the bloodlust reaches its zenith

He trembles as I strike

Devouring his sweet, tender lips

The moons color returns

And our hunger is sated once more

As Lunar mates rejoice

Under a Super Blood Wolf Moon

Very nice. Didn't see the moon last night, but it certainly was beautiful this morning. Thanks for sharing your vision, Wolfie.

When I read about this astrological event, I thought of you :) I'm glad you commemorated it in the right way, and hehe, wrote a poem too.

Nice Lyrical structure. I think it serves your message and images perfectly. Thanks for sharing it with us

Totally overcast here, of course, what else.  So I'll settle for your excellent poem instead.

Thank you, Backwoods :)  The clouds broke here as it reached about half coverage. Had a beautiful view as it entered the blood phase.

Thank you, AC :)  Both ways of commemorating it were a requirement ;) I'm liking the Lyrical format.

I was driving home that night, but I got peeks at the moon as it "disappeared" and during the red phase. It was cool to see, but I think I enjoyed your poem more. Most enjoyable! Thanks.
