History surrounds us,
As we wander the castle grounds.
An ancient monument
That's withstood the passage of time.
You are the thick stone walls,
Lined with batteries of cannons.
The rock that never yields,
And the fortress around my soul.
In the heart of Crown Square,
As the bagpipes play for the crowd;
I knelt to take your hand.
Your answer is stronger than stone.
On July 30th, 2019 in Crown Square at Edinburgh Castle, Scotland, I asked my boyfriend to marry me. He said yes.
