    No more Secrets, right?

    By Aditus

We know who wrote which story and won this year’s contest. Congratulations Gary L. And now? Watching the horizon thoughtfully and waiting for inspiration to strike? Or you could write a prompt story and maybe expand it…. PT Prompt #354 What if you could make objects talk? Heinrich Heine’s quill, for example. (I just saw it at a museum.) Which object would you choose, and what does it tell you?  PT Prompt #355 Five friends are playing a board game. After a while, they roll num

February Signature Feature: Clouded Purity by Cynus

What do you do when you love something or someone so much that you have to make the hardest decisions of all? This story is Book 2 in Cynus' series, The Trial, so I really recommend you read them all in order if you enjoy fantasy work in order to be able to understand this one. But it's worth it!  Description: Eight centuries before Salidar thulu-Khant's reign, the world was much different. Technology, not magic, defined the world, though political machinations and civil unrest had pu

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 9 - Feb. 15)

What up, guyz?   Don't you like old men that try to talk like they are young? Oh wait, do we have any young people here ? I guess when I think young, I think of like 20 and under, not sure why. Actually I do, I guess I don't consider myself that old. They say you are only as old as you feel. I guess I am older when I get up in the morning and then I'm back to a teenager as the day gets later, watching late night talk shows at night, and then wondering why I feel so old in the morning .

Accidental Valentine

Aditus and I did some brainstorming, and we have come up with a new twist for the prompt blog.  We'll still be featuring our usual Prompt Team prompts, but on the second Friday of the month, we thought we'd try something different.  We will start the story, and then ask you to continue it in the comment section.  On the fourth Friday of the month, we will post the completed story in the blog.   Since today is Valentine's Day, we came up with a theme of love gone accidentally right.

Diverse Diversity

Before I get into today's blog, I just want to say how thrilled I am that submissions for both anthologies have started coming in! I'm loving the enthusiasm.  You guys are what make this site so amazing ⭐   Now back to today's regularly scheduled blog feature... One of the reasons I chose the theme "Diversity" for our poetry anthology is because poetry is... well... diverse.  There are so many forms to choose from, and exploring those forms can be a fun aspect of writing poe

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 2 - Feb. 8)

Interesting day I had today   First went to a ringette game on one side of the city. Then off off to a flag football game in the central area of the city. Then to a youngins, U14 hockey game in the south side of the city. Finally a Junior B hockey game outside of the city in a neighbouring city. Two games my team won, two they tied. Now you get to guess which were the ties and the wins . Oh, I did come home after.  I was thinking on my drive home that I need to get traveling. I realize

We All Resist in Our Own Way

Yesterday, I visited my tattooist. I had given him the parameters for a new tattoo. I wanted the inclusive pride flag, tattered and marred but still flying. And with it, the symbol of the Social Democratic Party of 1932 Germany. The Social Democratic Party was the only real opposition to Hitler and the nazis (the only party to vote against the Enabling Act responsible for the authority Hitler gained to send people to their deaths in concentration camps). Though ultimately defeated, they fou
