I Have A New Name

I found out at work today, that I've been given a new name by my staff. They are now referring to me as The Angel of Death. Earlier in the year, I had to escort two of my staff to a meeting with the Administrator about a picture that one of them had posted on Face Book. Unfortunately, it was work related photo that didn't go over too good.   Last week, I had to escort another of my staff for another meeting. With the current state of the economy and working on next years budget, personnel chan

Please help! Advice needed!

I do not know what to do. My best friends, A (she) and K (he) are married to each other, and they have a one year old daughter. I have been friends with her for 5 years and with him for about 2. They got married in August.   I love all three of them very much. Last week A told me that she is in love with one of their mutual friends, M. She only loves K as a best friend now. He is totally in love with her, and he has no idea.   Now, she keeps texting me and telling me how much she lik

283

It's been a week of weighing in at 281.   So, it looks like 283 is no longer my plateau.   So, this means I've lost 10 pounds since I stopped driving last December.   Unfortunately, I have to go back to driving next month.   But, if I work hard, 279 shouldn't be that hard to achieve.   Ten pounds a year and I've only got five years to hit my target of 230.   According to the current BMI calculator, I should be 200, but my doctor said that would make me too skinny.   Imagine! Too sk

BURN BABY BURN!

So I'm sitting here after a long day of work followed by drinks with the co workers. So I'm listening to this new song that I'm very much enjoying and singing/dancing too. So about an hour into my writing which was just about five minutes ago, I start to smell something burning. So at first i just figured my Aunty was making sweet potatoes again. But then I started to smell that stink ass some of plastic burning and panicked a little. I went inside my grandmas room on my way to the kitchen to se

Every time I killed him

It is difficult to make sense of my dream this afternoon. Sometimes, my mind forms a coherent narrative, with a distinct beginning, middle, and end. I blame being an English major for those days. But, more often it's more typical, with my dreams being more variations on a theme than simply one story. There are points to be made, however.   I was a magical practitioner in a holy order, one dedicated to the eradication of an undead menace that was so far winning. Zombies would probably a good en

Misunderstood

I wonder if people around here understand me as I really am. I am a lot less inhibited here. In actuality I am more of a shy, standoffish person. I will talk to people but usually only when spoken to until I get used to someone. Then I am chatty. I am not one to be around crowds. All of the voices I hear make me feel uncomfortable. I guess most people don't really know me. I keep a lot of stuff about me bottled up... what I'm thinking and what I'm feeling. But when I'm online, it's like I'm a di

What's in a voice?

Ive always hated mine. Perhaps this stems from childhood when all I ever heard when I answered the phone was my mothers name. People ( relatives more directly. relatives I saw every weekend) couldn't seem to discern me from my mother over the phone.   It continued well after my balls dropped (puberty for those of you who are not as crass as I am being at the moment.) with sorts of people calling me ma'am on the phone and what not.   I even had someone here point out that it may be the issue.

Driving for a life

I guess I'm going back to driving. I went to the hazmat fingerprint place today and gave the government images of my arches, loops, and whorls. I should get the approval in a month. Then it's back to finding a company that'll employ me as my previous employer has made it clear they don't want me. In some ways I'm glad.   On the writing front, basically, I'm not. I don't exactly know why but that seems to be the situation right now. There are still stories in the bin to be written, but they do

The beginning of the end...

Just a quick note...   1) I've been out of touch with most people recently - sorry. Part of it has been my mood... Ever since early Sept, I'm been down mainly due to having been out of work for over a year, and partly cause still dealing a little with not having my girls (dogs). But I know a lot of you care and have reached out - and I appreciate it, even if I haven't always reached back.   WHICH leads me to: 2) GREAT NEWS!!!   Tomorrow (Wed) morning at 9AM - I report back to work! Girl screaming, talking book goes BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEP!

So apparently I'm a very very not nice person to be around when I'm stressing out. APPARENTLY I'm making everyone around me Cccrrrraaaaazzzzzyyyyyy. Well that's what my mom said anyways, when I smashed my nose against hers, forehead touching and everything, and demanded to know why she didn't buy me my favorite jelly candy like she promised. So of course I sat next to my grandma and pretended that my mom pushed me off of the chair we were both on (Which she really did!) and watched as my grandma

"This is the First Day of My Life"

.....I swear I was born right in the doorway.     Everything felt so delightfully shiny and new today. I had a nice dream about my grandfather. It was so real, like I was really talking to him again. Anyway, I was in a good mood when I got up and the weather was awesome! It was cool, but not cold, and it wasn't so damn dreary like it's been lately! So I had a nice shower, with some new body wash I used for the first time. Then I put on some new clothes and walked out into my day.

My next story

I got this idea from a prank I pulled some years ago and thinking about it- whoa... this story could kick major ass.   Prankster kid is instantly swept up in a web in international intrigue and ends up wanted by the FBI, Mossad, FSB, Homeland inSecurity and terrorists!   What do you think!?   Does this sound like fun or am I dain bramaged? No wait. I'm dain bramaged and it sounds like fun... or does it just sound like fun because of my dain bramage?

Phone Screw-Up

I just discovered that I racked up a $953 phone bill. My mother is, of course, pissed, and I feel pretty guilty.   When I was 16, I used to have scorn for the people who lived their lives on their cell phone. Now I'm like, one of them. So weird. I never thought it would happen to me.   This is what happens when you make your social life revolve around your phone.

A War for Oil

Two nations and their allies fought a tremendous war over oil.   One of them was militaristic and aggressive. The other was more interested in building their economy.   It started when the militaristic nation attacked a weaker, backwards nation that could barely defend herself. The militant nation turned their war machine on the weaker nation, slaughtering her population and looting her resources.   Horrified by the attack on a nation that could barely defend herself, the economic powerhou
