    Talk Talk

    By Aditus

Conversations. Sometimes it’s too much, sometimes too little, formal, informal, clumsy, artificial, with another word: difficult. Let’s practice, Shall we? #253 Someone is on the bus. The guy beside them fidgets the whole time with an irritating tinkling bangle while telling them, it seems, their entire life story, including very personal things. It’s time to pop in the earbuds. When it’s time to get off the bus, the talker has disappeared and the strange bangle is now on th

How I became a sinner!

I've been staying with Chaz and his family for the last couple of days. It's been really fun. I think I've met everyone that is related to this family also as they have big family get togethers. I've been here a couple of days and they've already had two get togethers. One to meet me and a second to make sure I met everyone else. It's definitely weird but awesome in the same sense.   In one of the get togethers I was invited to join in a game of poker against Chaz's Grandmother and Granfather.

50th entry!

Okay so I love... LOVE the fact that it is a beautiful, sunny 87 degrees here today in the middle of winter and I haven't worn a sweater all day and I still have on my flip flops for those of you who live in celsius that is... approximately 28.   I decided, after much thought and random surveying that I am gonna try a 'dear viv' blog... People always come to me for advice, to talk over their problems... and I love it not that they're having trouble... just that I can help... usually. So the

Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.

I read this article yesterday about how Chuck Norris apparently has this cult following among college-age people. My dad's favorite show ever was Walker, Texas Ranger, so I've quite unwillingly seen a lot of Chuck Norris in my day. For anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about, sorry, you can leave now. Anyway, there were some pretty hilarious lines from the story I thought I'd share.   Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.   Chuck Norris frequently donates blood to the Red Cross. Just

Round Two: I Can Do Better

So I was going to write this whiney entry complaining about all the things I couldn't do. All the things I used to know and can't remember; all the hopes I had that didn't pan out; all the skills I had that I've lost. Then I realized, What the heck am I whining about? I should just get out there and learn it/relearn it/do it.   I'm sick of making excuses, lowering my standards, and playing for sympathy. I'm sick of doing it the easy way. I'm sick of worrying. I'm sick of playing it saf

What a boring life!

I've had even more free time than usual over the past couple of weeks (and I had *tons* of free time before that!), but now that I have even more free time, the lazier and lazier I've become. I mean ... I *should* be finishing my thesis, but I just don't feel inspired. There are also a couple of other projects that I'm interested in, but I don't want to get caught up in any of those until my thesis is finished ... kind of like a Catch-22, I suppose.   Anyway, one of the projects I want to work

The tale of the underwear snatcher!

As I found myself with nothing to do today and I was too frustrated to rewrite the chapters I lost I decided that I should take care of the giant laundry mountain that was piling up. My washer wasn't working so I went to my mothers house. It looked like no one was home so I let myself in and headed towards the laundry room.   I did the usual separating and I smiled when I found a pair of Chaz's boxers. I threw them in the wash with the colors and left the machine to do it's thing. I went to

To Be In The Kitchen

So today was okay I guess. I was at work and around 11:00 I got this call from the apartment complex I was interested in, in Houston. Turns out they were doing the final bits of paper work, before they placed me on the "priority waiting list", and they had a problem with some of my information. Namely that I didn't currently clear three times the amount of rent per month. I of course politely said that 1) I was pretty sure I could afford the place on my current income because it's not that m

Loveless

Chaz has been gone for a week. I miss him and its affecting everything. I was almost done with the next chapter of Julian grace when the phone rang and I accidentially ripped the cord of my pc. I lost the whole chapter and the first half of The premier chapter to Mr. Black 2.   Then I dropped hot cocoa on myself when the phone rang once again. I tripped over a table and I still didn't get to the phone in time. It was him to so I called him back but he didn't answer. It's driving me crazy becau

root beer floats... sigh

Well, I started out today thinking that I was doing just fine, I even talked to my Sweetie for a while and that was... SUPERB!! Then I went to work and there is a new guy there, Steve, since they closed 5 stores near mine, we have new employees... Anyway, he said, that I looked sad today... and I said nah, I'm fine... But then as I started to think about it more, I realized... I AM SAD   I am... it's true, and I know I am because I actually am drinking a root beer float right now. How does t

i've got the power!

Okay, well the power just came back on It suddenly went out about 3 hours ago, due to the crappy rain and wind we were having here (I'm assuming) while I was chatting with Slave, so forgive me for just leaving you due to reasons beyond my control...   Anyway, Rich and I used the time to catch up on sleep and snuggle   So, if people's attitudes yesterday were a sign of how things are going to go in the coming year then... YAY!!! Everyone was sooooooooo nice even considering it was cold and

I Want To Get Straight

So I guess I'm turning into this huge cliche' . I've got all these plans for the new year, and how I'm going to get everything in my life straightened out and do better. First off I decided I didn't want to waste anymore of my youth. I figure if I'm not really healthy and active now, it'll just be harder when I get older (and for the record I'm not planning to even get middle aged until I'm AT LEAST 60 :king: ). So I went for a nice run around the neighborhood, and did some other random exe

I think I'm too old for this stuff...

Warning, drunk rambling post ahead:   Well I've done my New Year's partying and now I'm home, making mac and cheese and having a hard time typing. I went to two different parties tonight. One was at an old friend from WV's house (he lives here now) and mostly it was his girlfriend's family, who I didn't know at all. We only stayed there until right after midnight. They live in the highest neighborhood in the city, so we walked outside and were able to see fireworks that I think were being set

In the Next Year....

So contrary to what most people seem to be saying. I really liked 2005, it was a good year for me. So anyway I really like making "resolutions", in fact I know it's silly because I could really quit doing something anytime of the year, but I always look forward to New Year's and Lent so that I have an excuse to give something up. So I think I'm going to give up chocolate and alcohol for 2006. Both with a lot of conditions though. Like I have alot of chocolate right now, and I'm going to go

Happy New Year from Taipei!

Well, it's already 9:00 AM on New Year's Day here in Taipei ... a few more hours until it's New Year's back in the States. It was a blissfully uneventful New Year's Eve spent watching TV, napping, and laying around doing nothing, except for spending a couple hours yesterday afternoon with my classmate/thesis editor discussing my thesis over coffee. I've got six chapters to revise (some more than others), and still have to finish the last half of my final chapter ... If I can just get my lazy but

I really don't feel like blogging.

Hello all. It's been a while. I discovered two new songs that I love to death. "Dark Blue" by Jack's Mannequin and "The only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage" by Panic at the Disco. Things are awkward here at home right now because some major drama has been happening between my mom and my sister. It seems that my mom gives my sister anxiety (she had a really bad anxiety attack yesterday) so they're fighting like crazy.   Not what I need right now. I don't feel g

fate, kevin, and jumping hugs...

Okay, so I can't think of a title yet so I'm just gonna start typing and hope that one comes to me soon   First, Happy New Year everyone!   This year has been filled with all kinds of things for all of us; good, bad, and indifferent, but I know that for me at least, stumbling across Comicality's stories and then GA has been one of the better things. The direct results that have occured because of that have been awesome!   I seem to have a whole new family... Davey and Chris, Eric, Michae

Greetings from Taiwan (12/30/2005)

Well, this is my first time writing a blog in English ... I have another blog in Chinese, but unless you can read Chinese, that probably wouldn't be very interesting to most people.   Today has been a pretty uneventful day ... just three hours of work in the morning, and now I'm home for the weekend. I need to get my M.A. thesis finished, and hope I can make a good bit of progress on the last chapter this weekend. I'm meeting tomorrow afternoon with one of my older classmates to help me make r

kung fu fighting...

Okay, just an advance warning, but this may be a long entry... for the full effect.   So, my sister in law Lisa was telling me that the department store she works in made it mandatory that everyone worked the day after Christmas. So she is telling me about her day and this is her story... Actually it is two stories in one because as I was telling this story to Rich and Tony they had me laughing hysterically with their little comments I will try and include in the appropriate places...

I Make Little Girls Cry

So Christmas was fun. I went and visited with my mom and grandparents, then my mom and I went to see my aunt and cousin (They're still not eager to mix with my grandmother ). Boy I'd forgotten how much fun my cousin could be! We played cards for awhile, hung out, listened to music, chatted. It was really nice. I also decided I got really lucky in the family department, and within the family for some reason (and I feel a little guilty about it), my aunt, cousin, and grandmother seem to tre
