Well, Halloween and just about everything creepy is creeping up on us (I hate clowns, and they are everywhere, like everywhere!) Did this month's CSR creep up on you in a good way or not? I do say one answer by Aditus surprised me, but maybe that's just because here in the US we have a holiday nearly every day if you want to pick one. Loved these, and I do hope that " The Cat Burglar " gets finished. -
Great mix of authors and genres. I also like how the link preview gives some of the tags to help readers know what's in the stories at a glance along with a teaser of the description and it updates with the number of comments so you can see how active the stories are! I know it's all basic features, but if you don't really look at the details too often, those things tend to get forgotten if you're either new to the site or just skip over them and go to your favorite authors.

Snow in October isn't unheard of around here, although it generally starts more in November. Twenty years ago we had a surprise October snowstorm that decimated the area. Good ol' lake effect set up right over where I live. All the trees were in full leaf still, so two feet of saturated, heavy snow, brought down so many trees and branches that it looked like a hurricane came through. I remember leaving work and thinking it's just flurries. It's October... it will stop and melt right away.

The rules I learned growing up in the northeast about winter driving: 1. reduce speed on snowy and icy roads, and if you have to use brakes, pump them, don't slam on them. 2. increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. 3: don't use cruise control, 4. clear all now and ice off vehicle before you start driving, 5 keep gas tank at least half-full, 6 when you're in a skid, don't slam on brakes and turn into the skid. I hope that helps for someone new to wintery driving.
