Poor Trebs, the thought of anybody but Aaron having sex just grosses you out, doesn't it?

I could try to reassure you by quoting Jude 'There's nothing wrong with you Trebs'.

Just what did you do to get Trebs to buy that cable modem for you?

Snow Dog the Domaholic Danderthal

The cable modem is SERIOUSLY just appreciation for a great author, plus selfishness over wanting both to see future works by that author as well as keeping an additional communication option open...

Now... the movie and weekend... That was because he decided to take a chance and open his heart to possibilities... and caused me to do the same... It's still just at a beginning stage, but we're both hopeful.

And if people hadn't figured it out by now, I guess this pretty much "outs" me - and I have no problem with that ;-) I think some of my past hesitation in saying anything is wanting to take it slow and not jinx things. Plus it makes me grin seeing Dan slip in little references here and there...

P.S. Shouldn't you have 'outed' yourself at the Danopolis? :P

It's ok if you had more than one motivation behind the cable modem. As I've said, intent can be a tricky thing. Information symmetry is the key.

My only concern is: you aren't going to turn Dan all shmoopy, are you?

Kitty and Vic....and to anyone else who thought we were serious..we were not and were joking around....the law of unintended consequences gone awry...oops and apologies to any one who thought otherwise.

My apologies. You are correct I didn't read all of your posts. I misunderstood what you were trying to do and accomplish and didn't realize it was all in jest.

I'll have to have my 'Humor-dar' fine tuned.

So.... what about Karen? From a writing standpoint, if Dom is closing up TLW, it is helpful to have one more thread resolved. We know that Aiden truly is over her. But that could have been resolved with a much quicker conversation.

On a side note - I noticed that the midway point of Ch 28 was when Owen was waiting for Aiden. I am just glad that Dom didn't decide to cut the chapter in half with a cliffhanger being Owen getting out of the shower, going into the front room and still not seeing Aiden.

Ok, back to Karen. Why such a long conversation? What else happened during that talk? Did Karen give Aiden the ultimatim - ie, eviction notice?

PS After all the recent posts, figure this could help bring us back on topic...

PPS Woot - this is #100 for my posts. Though personally, I'm happiest about my #99th... ;-)

IMHO, I believe that if you wish to donate money to support GA I suggest you just go do it (and yes, read Myr's announcement and check out the Support page as Kitty has suggested).

I believe it is a personal decision for all of us if we 1)want to donate and 2)how much would we want to donate.

Some of what is being discussed makes it all so very public and I'd be afraid that some might be shamed or guilted into donating when they may not want to or worse, may not have the means to do so.

What if I were to 'challenge' someone to donate $25.  Do they donate the money (which they may not have had) or would they feel guilted into doing so?  If they don't 'respond' to the challenge, would there be bad feelings on both sides?  Would the person who didn't respond to the challenge just stop posting?

Or what if someone planned on donating $50, but received 4 challenges of $25/each for a total of $100.  How would that person feel?  Do they donate another $50 to not look cheap?

As I said above, if you want to donate, just go do it.  Myr isn't listing a breakdown of what people are donating (and some people are donating anonymously) and I don't think there should be any posts here that show who is donating and what amounts are being donated.

Just some thoughts...

Vic

Vic,

While I agree with you in principle, I just want to mention to Conner that I just dispatched $25 to the GA fund. Let's see, to match me you'll have to send about 400 Canadian dollars.

DK...shmoopy?! (looks at DK with a snicker...supresses a giggle...can't control it...breaks into full laughter)

Gee DK, we'll have to get the rainbow crowd to send you a membership kit. (laughs even harder, if that's possible)

I love that green bean casserole that Owen mentioned his mom made (you know the canned green bean's in the cream of mushroom soup with the French's Onions on the top)  I only see at Thanksgiving too  :(

Ya, never really thought of it as a birthday food item - heh

$400 Can sounds about right. :funny:

Ok, I'm in for $25. US.

One day, though, when the US runs out of fresh water, fresh air, lumber, oil & gas and other assorted commodities, the 16 factor will be reversed and I'll be looking at $1.56 Can to your $25.

My dad is still alive and in good health at 83 - so I'm planning on being around for it! :D He still has all his hair too, which is a bonus.

Hugs,

Conner :boy:

Let's just say there's something very wrong about a guy reading TLW 28 while I'm writing DOR 25.

What's even more wrong is that we're still waiting for the next TLW...come on Dom, you can do it!

Oh, and I just haven't been writing much lately. I've been in too good a mood.

Way to throw Trebs to the wolves. Glad to see there is an evil side to Shmoopy.

That must be why my family keeps the Canadian relatives around :D .

Don't blame Dan because you opened your big mouth -- ah -- um, I probably could have said that better. Anyway,

Asbestos is outdated and cancer causing, get into the 21st century and use a nomex/kevlar weave.

I just read this whole thread in one sitting...love how it's gone off topic so many times and continues to come back to the story. :D

And now for my analysis of "the punch." Here's the quote from the story:

I led the way to the building, glancing behind me with a smile every few steps because Aiden was falling behind. Apparently, he was a lot more tired than he

I guess the next question is, if Nicky is not playing around but seriously attacking Owen, why is he doing it? Especially if he knows by now what happened to Owen, what does he think Owen did to him that would justify an attack? Seems like it would be more than Nicky just feeling betrayed, as many of us have suggested.

Kitty

I don't think Nicky has any clue as to what happened to Owen. All he knows is someone who was supposed to be his best friend split town and never said a word then or since. I don't think Owen's parents let anyone know what happened. They never bothered to explain when Tony and Chris left so why should anyone think that it would be different this time. I think after seeing Owen at the drive-in (and having Owen deliberately avoid him) and realizing that he must still be somewhere in the area, Nicky tracked him down. Now he's just pissed.

I don't recall Dom ever having broken a character's personality, so I don't think it is possible that Owen being gay has anything directly to do with it. The last conversation with Nicky had him reassuring Owen that things wouldn't change. Then, despite the best possible response from a best friend (that won't sleep with you), Owen changes everything in Nicky's life with out so much as a peep.

Yea, Nicky's pissed at Owen, but it is classic anger caused by the combination of fear and frustration. I refuse to believe that Nicky didn't defend Owen, even in his absence, but as Owen was gone for longer and longer how could Nicky keep defending him and what was the cost to Nicky for his continued defense of Owen, despite Owen having running away and the "obvious" reasons for it?

Nicky's rage is not from Owen's sexuality, nor is it from having to stand up for him in Owen's absence. Nicky's rage comes from being abandoned by his best friend just after having put himself on the line emotionally.

Although, he could just be the 'hit man' hired by Owen and the twin's parents to remove the embarassments from the face of the earth  . Probably a good thing I'm not a writer.

Maybe I should have been a little clearer in my post. I agree with you, Snow Dog. What I meant was that I don't think Nicky knows that Owen's dad put Owen in the hospital.
