Song of the moment...the sad, but lyrical "Not Dark Yet" by Bob Dylan. I have heard people say they can't take the nasally sound of Bob Dylan's voice, and that is a shame. Like Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, Mr. Dylan is a poet. He doesn't need the vocal chords of an angel, because his lyrics alone have made him an icon.

Passenger - Golden Leaves

This was lovely music and totally new to me. Thanks for sharing.

Gene Kelly (1912-1996). Actor, dancer, choreographer, director and producer. Helped change the way people viewed male dancers. Appreciation of his abilities and work have only increased over time. If anything, his classic, ' Singing In The Rain ' has never been equaled (though many have tried). It has always been a favorite of mine.

RIP Gene Kelly

Song of the moment..."The Lost Boy" by Greg Holden. The first time I heard this song was on the Sons of Anarchy. I don't usually watch television, but I tuned in every week (my guilty pleasure) to watch the handsome Charlie Hunnam as bad boy Jax Teller.  :blushing:  It's rare that I bring out the tissues and go into sappy mode, but there are times when this formula applies: death of favorite character + sad ass song = knot in throat and a blur of tears in eyes.

One of the most played Wedding Songs ever, but damn I love this song:

"I'll be the greatest fan of your life", to whoever I finally end up loving

Aw, heck... might as well post this one too... the reverb in his voice in his upper register is beautiful...

Haven't we all had that special friend who gets so close the lines are suddenly blurry...? When it's really not a good idea?

Her voice is just amazing. Norwegian singer.

I feel a new story coming on. I think it shall be called 'The Seashell'

Here's what's inspiring it:

A friend had me listen to David Bowie singing 'Port of Amsterdam':

Then I found Jacques Brel and I loved it too:

Feeling alone, I'd like to hear a sad song right now. Any suggestions???

I do have an idea about a Telugu song "Pranam lo pranamga, matallo mounamga" from the movie "Andhrudu".

Trivium "Until the World Goes Cold"

I just heard this song on the way home on 98.9 The Rock out of Kansas City. I downloaded it on Amazon. I love it.

I know this sounds weird, but sometimes I find that listening to a sad song or two helps. I hope your spell of loneliness does not last too long Eminent. :)
