So, with the purchase of my new truck, I thought I'd ask. What do you drive?

And Top Gear Style, what's your car/vehicle history?

I have just bought a blue Ford Ranger, 4x4, Turbo Diesel, crew cab. His name is Hoyt.

I already own (and am now giving to my husband, aren't I the nicest wolf?) a red Hyundai i10 (with sunroof) called Shaun.

Before that, was Phillip, he belonged to my brother (who ruined him) and was a blue Vauxhaul Corsa breeze with a bright red bonnet. The wing mirrors used to flap at 80mph.

I purchased a black 2012 Kia Soul last fall. I needed the extra capacity for hauling around ceramics to art sales, but needed front wheel drive with the road conditions around here during winter so a truck was not an option. And I refused to be in a soccer mom-mobile. It's all black and I like that the interior and exterior design has a lot of character.

The engine has a lot more power than my last vehicle and it comes with tons of features I've barely been able to play with that are standard.

I'm really liking it so far. It's going to last me a long time.

I drive a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, sand-chrome colored. I've never thought of a name for her, as she is only a lease. I can't afford to get too attached to her if she isn't officially mine. :P

I don't drive. I keep thinking I should get my license, but it's expensive, and I live in the city so it's not like I actually need to drive anyway... :P

I drive a 2009 Ford Fusion.  It's the SEL model V-6 with the moon roof and rear spoiler.  It is silver ingot with black leather interior.

Of course I call him Silver!

OK I didn't initially  report all the cars that I've owned or own because well, I've been at it for a long time.

The first car I drove was a 1959 Ford stations wagon 3 speed stick shift.  (I owned it with my older brother.  We bought it for $125.00)

The second car I drove was a 1960 Galaxy 3 speed stick shift.  (My brother owned it and he got it when it was a year old.   I drove it because I put gas in it.)

The third car I drove was 1964 Ford Custom.  It was a turquoise blue/green and I was the primary driver but it was owned by my mom who didn't drive yet.

The first car I owned was a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, 383 cu. in. engine, white, black vinyl top with black rolled and pleated leather interior.  No power anything except the engine could go like a bat out of hell.  I had it up to over 140 mph on a track a couple of times.

The second car was a 1975 Ford Granada.  My wife was the primary driver.

The third car was a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass.   A really sweet car, dark maroon with a red interior. My wife was the primary driver.

The fourth car was a 1980 Ford Fairmont Station wagon.  Light blue with a gray interior.  Great for going camping.I was the primary driver. It was called blue.

The fifth car was a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis, dark burgundy with a red interior.  My wife was the primary driver.

The sixth car was a 1991 Mercury Sable Station Wagon,  Ice crystal blue.  I was the primary driver and called it Ice blue.

The seventh car was a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, cherry red with red interior.  My wife was the primary driver.

The eighth car was a 1999 Mercury Mystique, dark red with a gray interior.  I was the primary driver and I called it, my little red car.

The ninth car is a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, Crystal blue ice.  My wife is the primary driver.

The Fusion mentioned above is the tenth car I've either owned or was a primary driver.

My first car was a teal Ford Escort named Katie.  Then an Air Force blue volkswagon Beetle my partner called Big Bertha.  My last couple years in LA I drove a silver Honda Civic I called Jorge.  Nowadays, I drive a 6-wheeler Polaris side-by-side that got nicknamed the Ladybug by one of the elementary teachers (it's owned by the school and all the teachers share).  Unfortunately, it's out of commission while we await a new battery.  Apparently, there's a history of problems with Polaris ATVs as they're not designed for Alaskan winters. Go figure.

I have a white single-cab Ford Ranger pickup with a fibreglass canopy for the tub (back).

It's wonderful for when I travel as I can sleep in it comfortably and it also carts my stock of books to the market I attend.

It's a mongrel for parking though as it's so long with not very good rear visiblity.

highlights:

'12 Honda Fit Sport in blue vortex pearl, I call 'nuff. Big 'nuff, fast 'nuff, economical 'nuff, and it'll carry 2 kayaks. Cut my gas bill $300/month.

'97 Dodge Dakota, pgf, with a sign on the back end that said, "Hit me." Rear ended 5 times.

I don´t drive. I get around by using my bicycle and buses or taxis. More ecological for me and much cheaper than keeping a car.

The 1965 Mustang was launched in April 1964 and the 50th Anniversary model will be launched in April 2014.   The traditional launch date of new models in America is in September so this was 5 months early.  It was one of the most successful launches in automotive history.
