I have. My mother bought me the full set, leather bound. I got a book a month starting when I was 25. They are beautiful and I've read them all multiple times.

I've never been mountain climbing. I used to hike, and as kid I did some camping. Grown older with a bad back, so now a days the best you get is a day at the beach.

I've been to Canada, Japan, Vietnam, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and France to name some off the top of my head.  I'm more interested now in traveling inside the U.S.

I have, more than once, luckily the damage stayed across the street...while we were cowering in the basement.
