Felt fine when I went to the Dr. yesterday [temp was a normal, for me, 97.3F]. Woke up this morning w. an earache and am now running a temp of 98.8F, which is about 1.5F above my normal average. Called the Dr. and left a msg; almost certain this is just a sinus infection, but we'll see what the Dr. wants to do.

Edit: Heat alert says 30 to 34C (86 to 93F) for today. I suppose that is hot for early June, but I’m not sure I’d call it worthy of a heat alert. 🤔

They have issued our first air quality alert of the season here, that ground level ozone has the potential of approaching unhealthy levels. They specifically mentioned those with asthma and recovering from covid may have issues. 

 

I was pleasantly surprised today.  After Sunday's water bucket issue and a bunch of other stuff, I decided to resign from teaching at the barn. Put word out to a few friends today I was interested in a position at another farm, and got calls from 2 places that want to sit down to talk with me, and neither is the place I am looking to move my horses to!

Lots of talk about weather in here recently. We had an anamoly occur, a 'derecho', that brought up to 110mph winds. A first for Colorado. I was fortunate to only lose a tree.

thank goodness no buildings were damaged & You weren't hurt Sir. some friends of ours in Longmont lost barns & sheds

Humidex values will reach the mid thirties this afternoon, then the upper thirties to near 40 on Wednesday afternoon.   That's why ...

I'm not one who wants for things. I want to be happy and I want my kids to be happy and not make the kind of mistakes I did. When they do (and they will) I hope they learn from it. 

And that's the most noble goal of them all.  There is nothing wrong with mistakes (as long as it's not lethal), but the lesson from it is the most important.

I think Moon River in Audrey Hepburn's voice is ringing in my head.

Hello everyone. Will some kind soul please tell me what two black dots on my profile means? I seem to have morphed from “Newbie’ to ‘Member dot dot.” I hope it’s something nice because so far today I’ve turned out to be a Che Guevara personality type, a four on the Kinsey scale via three different testing methods, and sixty per cent likely to be bipolar. Meh. I hardly dare take the Winnie The Pooh test.  =;0)

I don't remember what is the criterion.  Newbie is reserved for people who is new to GA.  I don't remember how many posts or time you have to stay here to get out of Newbie status.  The forum has modified its rule many times, so I don't remember what was restricted to a Newbie (I think The Pits was one of the restricted area for newbies).  But you have to ask someone else for official rules.  I couldn't find it in the faq.  You've done nothing wrong, so don't worry about it.

I'm fairly certain it has to do with post count. You're a newbie until you reach a certain amount of posts (one dot), then member(two dots), but can't remember what's past that.

Thank you for caring. So sorry if I’m giving off a stress vibe. My stress level is stratospheric because of no sleep, not because of GA. Right now it’s interacting with GA members that helps to reduces my stress level. GA is a grat place to be. (I fought iPad over that typo’ three times!) Thanks, Jack.

You certainly are lucky. 110mph winds are equivalent to a high cat 2 or low cat 3 hurricane. 

Cat 3 is when even Floridians start thinking about bugging out! Definitely nothing to mess with. Glad you're ok.
