I long for the day, we do not have to 'come out'. We do not have to say Black Canadian, Gay Canadian, Asian Canadian, Trans Canadian  etc.  I long for day our children can bring home their same-sex partner (or other partners) without have to explain it, and for the day that we are all just Canadian, or American, or whatever. That we no longer needs hyphens.

There is a lovely commercial we see on some British shows we watch. It's not about race, it's about cancer but the Doctor is Indian and the patient a white woman. He tells her she is cured and doesn't have to come back. She gets up and they embrace. He holds her and tells her she's welcome as she thanks him. One human being to another. That is how the world should be.

Yes.  I long for the day I don't have to come out to everyone as a gay bottom.  Explaining it is kind of..., you know, embarrassing.  I thought it was self-explanatory....  😛

Okay, back on tangent, yes, the human compassion.  School used to give us essay to write about some important topics, like truth vs compassion.  Common sense, really.  (but now I feel we need to write a manual on how to behave like a human and teach kids in school).

Well, I understand that. I am not a bottom, but an Alpha Top.  Not something I usually feel the need to explain. One day I had to explain it to my parents. They took it quite well, mind you, they are used to me. They took it well when I told them I am Gay.  We went to see them because tim and I were getting married. First in a regular civil ceremony and then one to mark our D/s relationship. 

There was a lot of explaining that night but we wanted them there. Wanted them to understand. It took them awhile and some research, but they know I do not hurt tim. That he is everything to me. They understand and we do not have to pretend in front of them. 

 

And yes, we should have common sense, but it seems many of us do not. My hope is with the young … who grew up with all colours and nationalities, like our nephew has done. They are just all friends … their colour/creed/gender doesn't matter and well, they get to celebrate that with all sorts of good food and ideas.

It's wonderful that you have such confidence and you are proud of not only who you are, but who tim is and your relationship. We need more people to embrace that kind of outlook. 

Everyone has their faults, but the color of their skin, who they love or their heritage should never be included in that thought process.

Nope.

I'm also insecure. I'm happy one day and sad the next. Some days I have no clue what I'm doing with my life. I'm not a 'people' person.

I'm also a good Mom, a loving wife and I will protect those whom I love with all that I have. I have a small handful of people that I truly consider friends and I will not waiver in my loyalty. 

I will help a stranger who needs it. I will also look the other way sometimes. 

All of these things define me. 

You know what else defines me?

You remind me of a co-worker of mine.  Super cool and I am sure she's okay with me being gay.  She's a bit insecure of her place in the world (aren't we all?  adjusting to this changing world one way or another.  Maybe race, sexual orientation, or funny stuff like level of nerdiness  LOL).  But she's not a mom.  LOL  Which has some complication.  I have to be a little careful as she smears her boobs on me once a while, especially after some drinks, so delivering the bad news to her is a bit of... a sensitive issue.  I actually care about her feeling hurt than my own gayness, which at my age... it's not going to change.  LOL

When I was in first grade, I had three very close friends. Two of them had the last name Brown.  C was a blond haired white girl, L was a dark skinned black girl.  I tried to steer my mom to one of them on the playground one day by saying "the little Brown girl". Mom went to the person of color thinking I meant the color of her skin. She was flabbergasted when I said "No mom, the little one. That is the tall one!"

She realized she did a decent job teaching me to see the person, not the skin color. I hope I did as well with Wings!

It been pouring here for two days now. Tropical system came over from the Pacific into the Gulf, and now its swampy out there. Which we need, to refill the aquifer, but it's playing hell on the Asthma.

Thanks Ashi! Going to Home Depot tomorrow to deplete their supply of ark building materials. I just checked the rainfall amounts and we've gotten roughly 15 inches of rain in the last 7 days. 

And it's only June 😧😬

molly thanks for asking going to veg out watching Netflix. did all my chores yesterday. molly nothing is worse than a sharp razor blade.
