i know how to cook it ... cooking is something i have down ... i have a diabetic Husband and my own health to worry about, having HIV means i have to watch what i eat as well.  A bit of bacon is okay, but i use it as more of a flavouring when we do choose to buy some.

Bacon is another food item the price stayed the same, but the package got smaller.

I've had it with both dark and milk chocolate. I still can't decide which is better...sweet and salty or bitter and salty. 🤔

I resemble that statement.  And yes, it must be crispy but not burned.  I know I need to be a little more temperance, but bacon..., yeah, I need it once a while.

(and Canadian bacon is good too, to Tim.  I love it with my sandwich and if I ever made pizza again the last time seems aeons ago)

Had one of those ice cold bucket of water thrown over you dose of reality tonight. 

My mom has dementia, lives with my brother and I take her on Saturdays to give my brother and SIL a break. I didn't see her for about 8 or 9 weeks due to Covid. 

She seemed ok last week when I had her, but today she seemed more confused. We took her out to dinner and as we came into the house afterward she asked me "when did we go out for supper?" We literally left the restaurant 10 minutes earlier.

That and the fact that she's becoming more obsessive about little things like checking her purse repeatedly, even though she has no clue what she's looking for. I'm just thankful she still recognizes me. 

It breaks my heart.💔

She was a teacher. 😪

It's sad.  i am rather torn about these things.. because you got to have your mother for as long as you have, but still i feel badly that this is how it ends for her.

Thanks tim. I feel torn too.. I've debated (both sober and drunk) the pros and cons of losing your mind vs losing your physical capabilities. (There's no good answer by the way.)

In today's day and age I'm rather glad my mom has no clue what's happening around her. I'm also glad that I've been fortunate to have her in my life so long. No matter what, she'll always be 'Mommy' in my heart no matter how old I am.

I know.. sometimes I know you look at my mom … missing your own for so many years.  My boy, you will always have her, in your boundless heart.

i hear stories from my dad and siblings about episodes like this with my mom, and it does make me sad too
it also scares the living daylights out of me

Scares me too. Funny thing is, her mom was sharp as a tack right up until she died....three weeks shy of turning 95.

I'm sorry. My dad is starting down that route; he's 98.

When my brother was talking to him the other day (he sits outside the window and talks to him on the phone) dad mentioned he'd "worked late last night but got all the wheat in".  He hasn't been farming in decades. I've not seen him since just before the lock-down started. SP and I had intended to go up to see both him and mom, but then both of their facilities were closed. I'm worried he won't remember who I am by the time I'm able to see him again.

It's one of those foods that you know is absolutely bad for you. I don't make it very often because of this. But when I do, if both my kids are home, it's two pounds that gets cooked and it will disappear before you can blink.

Bacon must be crispy, on the verge of burnt, but not quite. Limp is not good.

hello Sirs & friends

bacon, it's a pain to clean up after cooking enough for our army, & is not good for our health so it's a treat with eggs. i do have a glorious jar of strained drippings in the fridge for seasoning.

hope everyone is doing OK, i'm in line at Starbucks. Phil added money to my app & told me to treat myself when i picked up groceries.
