had a really good day. met my goal, & pulled off a last minute shipping request. the kids pitched in for pizza. i'm a happy girl

Sounds like a good day Molly.  

 

Hope everyone else was doing well today.  

 

It was extremely hot here in southern Ohio.  I think it hit 90. Too much for me without any pools being open. 

Its been a rough week.  I've put what happens in a hidden view. TRIGGER FOR CHILD MISTREATMENT

Had a bad thing happen in My extended family this week, which prompted a cousin of mine to have to take emergency legal custody this afternoon of her 4 grandkids.  Their parents had been keeping them apart from family and abusing substances. My second cousin pas sed from overdose. Friends....... It was/is awful.  The children are skinny and they all have bad lice, were sleeping on 1 mattress on the floor and there was barely food in the house. 

We all split tasks to supply what they needed.  I took on clothes buying.  Went to a local kids resale shop but even so buying 4 kids at least  five outfits a piece was pricey. But thats why We split the tasks, so no one broke their wallet. Those poor babies. 

Anyhow.  This week can get smoother any time now.

molly it is always good day when it ends on a good. now you can rest and enjoy your weekend.

my day was pretty good it was busy enough which made the time fly. i still have to work on Saturday but it is Overtime which is nice. 
so you have a good evening.

I am sorry to read this, Starry.  I spent a lot of years working to stop child abuse online … nothing much surprises me. But I am glad you all were there for these innocents.  I hope the parents are headed to where they belong. 

I hope things are a little easier tomorrow.

some people don’t deserve kids. sorry to hear about your cousin. give the kids plenty of love and things will get better.

so take care of your self and please keep the thunder storms on that side of the state.

Thank you for stepping in and helping out. I've discovered more than I ever wanted to know about the horrors of child abuse in the past 10 months. 

Drug abuse is a hard road to travel no matter which side you're on.

Thank you Mike. I didn't know you worked in child abuse. Wow, I'm sorry not only for what I'm sure you've seen but for all those poor babes. 

As for their parents, mom is now deceased and the dad is only legal dad to 1, the youngest.  Who even knows what happened to the other 3 kids Dad/dads. 

Tomorrow is the service which promises to be a sh!t show.  I'm leaving my little one at home with my mom (it's not her side of the fam) because I anticipate drama.

Thank you Rick.  We will do our best for them now that they are back in the family fold.  

 

And ha! My side of the state.  I googled, we are about 90 miles apart.

It's what family does.  Thank you though. I'm sorry you've had occasion to see such horrors. 

 

And yes. Substance abuse is a very sad road for all.  It takes a lot of effort on many parts to combat.

Leaving the kids home would likely be smart. It's nothing they need to see.    

My discomfort with the job, is nothing to what those children suffered and still do.  

That people can do that, say those things, do them, leaves me with little hope humans can ever really change.  We need to try, but I don't hold out a lot of hope.

I hope people can change. And I also hold tight to the thought that most people don't do those things.....it's not much of a comfort, but I hope that all kids in those situations are found and shown good humans that do nothing but love and care in safe ways.

Be strong Starry. Those kids need some intelligent adults in their lives. Beyond the fact they lost their mom, hard enough for any child, there are so many other potential issues you and the extended family will need to deal with.

Remember we are here for you when the going gets rough.
