G'day y'all. It's significantly warmer this morning than yesterday's subfreezing low, currently 44/7°.

Yesterday afternoon I set up the Christmas yard/village under our tree. It's a tradition stretching back to mum's early childhood. My grandmother did one each year, mum created a yearly one in our home. Now I do it since getting down on the hard floor is too painful for mum's knees.

My mom used to do something similar, with real smaller trees around the main tree, and mirror ponds and ceramic houses and figures. It was so pretty, and took up one whole side of the family room. She didn't do it every year... started it when us kids were grown.
