Popular Post Albert1434 Posted May 6, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2021 (edited) Well they called me it is cancer but it's very small only 9mm Dr. Bacon he couldn't do the surgery because he can't go thru the lung because it's in the middle of the lobe. So I will be having a consultation with a thoracic surgeon and he will remove it. They will have to crack my chest which I am not looking forward to! Edited May 6, 2021 by Albert1434 5 1

I'm so sorry for the diagnosis, but I'm glad they've caught it early and can remove it. The surgery sucks, but if it makes you cancer-free, then it's worth it. 1 5

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted May 6, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted May 6, 2021 Well today was a bit of an adventure. My mom texted me first thing this morning to ask if might be free to take her to an appointment today. So I said yes. Well, on Monday, she swallowed a pill wrong and it caused some damage in her throat, making it painful to swallow. The GI doc was scheduling out to July/August So her primary told her to go to the ER. We waited over three freaking hours to be seen I had to wait outside because they wouldn't allow visitors in the waiting room. I was finally able to go in once she got a room. They gave her some meds to relax her throat muscles and another GI referral. The meds seemed to help, thank goodness. We were there for 7 freaking hours for this. At least it wasn't worse though, and I had nothing else planned for today, so it all worked out. 3 1 3

The good news seems to be that the nodule has been detected early. I'm reading that the vast majority of nodules of no more than 1cm in diameter are treated successfully. I understand you not looking forward to the operation, but the alternative doesn't really bear consideration. Know that I am sending healing thoughts your way. And I hope Steve is not taking the news too badly. 5

While I'm sorry for the diagnosis I am glad you needn't wait longer for the results. While for you this is a major issue it could have been more serious. One of mum's best friends was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had surgery earlier this spring. Soon after they found stage 3 cancer in her lung. Removal isn't an option due to her advanced age and because it would require removing the entire lung. She just had a port installed to begin chemo. Mum and I are cautiously hopeful. For this reason I am very glad for you and Steve and us too, that despite the seriousness of the surgery your cancer should be more easily dealt with. You have our best thoughts and prayers. 1 5

Marty Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Happy Friday, all! Weather still unseasonably cool, but I did manage to get my seed potatoes planted yesterday. Off to meet up with my social bubble for the usual Friday takeaway lunch. Cod willing, I'm hoping that in the not to distant future the restaurants will be open again for sit down dining. 1 3

A pizza guy knocked on my door trying to deliver 3 pizzas. Ummmm I didn’t order any... 6
