    Chapter 15

The rehashing of events from Damien's perspective was jarring and unnecessary. The story wasn't moved along and no real information was added that we couldn't already surmise. Cannd makes a valuable point: Kayden has saved Damien's life once already and has provided information of Roman's activities, and we have been led to believe he has become important to Damien--especially so in this chapter. Why then is Damien behaving so selfishly in waiting so long to check on Kayden? Notwithstanding the confusion of the moment, this behavior rings false if we are truly meant to believe that Damien loves Kayden.

    Chapter 14

A member status posed this question recently: Does serial posting hurt a story? I took serial to mean those stories in which a chapter a week or very two weeks of time are being posted. My opinion is that it does--hurt the story, that is. No matter how good the story telling, something is lost. I'm very glad to say that the frequency of the posting of this story is a breath of fresh air. Also, there is much to be gained by the reader and very little, if anything, of note seems to be lost to the author. This author has faithful readers who comment frequently and has gained considerable approval ratings. The frequent posting has not hurt and I dare say that it would not hurt other authors either. But . . . All would be moot if the author did not have the skill to tell their story. Clearly, craftingmom has the skill, and aren't we the lucky ones for it.
  6. This is yet another hit out of the ballpark for dkstories! A definite reward for the price of admission. Batter - Batter - Swing! For the cost of a dog and a beer at the game you can enjoy a month of Premium Access.
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO ANN Many, Many Happy Returns!
  8. What was that! Unfortunately, it resembles a desperate attempt that the malls in my old stomping grounds back in Ohio might produce. What were once thriving shopping centers have have fallen on hard times . . . along with the shoppers--and again, unfortunately.
  9. Happy Birthday Bill.

    Chapter 8

I'm really not sure how you plan to wrap this up in another nine or ten chapters. The story is interesting and compelling enough to get some mileage out of it--some long chapter mileage :Pthat is. You've got us, so why let us go so soon!

    Chapter 2

You have an interesting story in the works, Craftingmom. One thing that stands out as incongruous is the behavior of the lower class of people - the slave master, the slave handler at the manor house. These people are shown as being differential one moment and in the next they are speaking their minds freely to their betters. It should be consistently one or the other and I'm sure you recognize which way that should lean. You lose the necessary tone otherwise. You have a promising story and I look forward to reading and finding out where you take it.
  12. In my opinion—the context of the kiss does matter. It would be very hard to view this kiss as meaning anything beyond how it was meant to be viewed. The kiss itself was not on the lips—but on the corner of the mouth—which removes any sexual overtone. It is an emotional display of affection. In this case, for a dying friend—  In a silent film—  In which exaggerated emotional expression is de rigueur. To see this as somehow more than it is meant to portray . . . Is a bit of a stretch. As Gary Couzens writes in his review of the movie: "It is not hard to read . . . as a coded tragic gay love story, and you can do the same with Wings, though how much this is intended, and how much 1927's audience would have picked up on it, is open to conjecture." I think—those that want to find something . . . will. But they very well may not be correct in their interpretation.

    A Sam and Jeremy story

The costumes, huh? I held off on the reveal as long as I could. The storyline will continue as self-contained stories posted occasionally. Thanks for reading and showing interest, Valkyrie.

    A Sam and Jeremy story

The trick is a subtle one and has to do with the beginning and the end of the story--Jeremy has a plan. Thanks for reading and the nice comments, Cole.

A self-contained story in the Sam and Jeremy series. You don't have to read the other stories to read this one. Rated mature but you should make that decision for yourself.

    A Sam and Jeremy story

It is a beautiful morning and I can hardly wait for this afternoon. I don’t normally get up this early on a Saturday but I guess the anticipation of tonight is too much to let me sleep in. Jeremy is coming over after lunch to hang out and get dressed up. We've been planning and constructing our costumes for almost a month. I think this will be our last year for trick or treating, we are pushing it even now, at our age. The rest of our friends seem to be doing it this year so Jeremy and I decided
  24. That was fun.
  25. Welcome back to the writing. For a wham-bang-thank-you-sir chapter, it came out great, Dave.
