This is a collection of stories I wrote based on various prompts.

For some reason, Prompt 134 reminded me of a true encounter. With some license to make the story much more interesting.

Carl Waite goes out for his morning walk in the park, and along the way he passes an old man sitting on a park bench. Since the man looks sad and appears down in the dumps, Carl wishes him Merry Christmas. The old man, who we later learn is Bob Swartz, responds, “What is there to be merry about?” Carl immediately stops so he can find out why the man reacted this way.

Scott is fourteen and gay. JB is fourteen, and Scott's only friend. JB is from the wrong side of the tracks, his parents are crooks, and his older brother was the biggest bully his school had ever known. Scott wants to come out to JB. Should he?

Sean was out in the woods taking pictures alone, at least he thought he was...

What has led him to such an extreme move and what will he find when he arrives?

Patrick is a writer for a food magazine. Although Christmas is over it doesn't mean the work is. Cancelling out on his sister's dinner he asks for a raincheck. He gets it only to have it called in for that weekend. His niece has just graduated college. Now he will need to deal with snow storms, delayed flights, young adults, a crush, and a fall. Pat will have to deal it all, just maybe later.
