Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 51. For the Fallen

The last weekend in May
Is just a holiday to most
A day to save on sales
Or hit a big, fun pool party
Maybe a Barbecue
But this time is to remember
The soldiers and sailors,
Also the airmen and Marines
Whose highest sacrifice
Was made in the nation's defense
It's Memorial Day
And we remember our fallen

It's as assured as the countless sales this weekend I'll hear someone say Happy Memorial Day and don't understand when I respond that it's inappropriate. Thankfully many try to guide the day in the right direction. Please take a moment this weekend to remember those in the military who gave their lives.
