Weekly Wrap Up (Jan 8 - Jan 14)

Oh, the way my brain DOESN'T work. I just had it in my noggin the Weekly Wrap Up is on Sunday, and I set up reminders on my phone... for this and next Sunday evening. Not helpful since it should have been Saturday. Whoops! Good thing Myr reminded me. So let's get going, shall we? Monday was a look back of the Review Team's 2023 reviews. If you missed some, check them out now.  Want a laugh? Tuesday was a Comedy Genre Deep Dive by Myr.  Join in for Wednesday's Author Guess Who ga

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec.31 - Jan. 07)

Well this is my first blog of the new year 🥳 I seriously hope that no one is still recovering from Sunday night and Monday morning   I will keep my question simple. Did you bother with a New Year's Resolution, what was it, and 7 days in are you achieving it?  Now lets jump into the past week. It was a full one! Monday was a day that many of you were looking forward to. Valkyrie published the stories of 11 dedicated fans of Carlos Hazday in memoriam. Check them out if you have ever

Should auld acquaintance be forgot And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot And the days of auld lang syne?   For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We'll drink a cup of kindness yet For the sake of auld lang syne   And surely you will buy your cup And surely I'll buy mine! We'll take a cup of kindness yet For the sake of auld lang syne   We two have paddled in the stream From morning sun till night The seas between us Lord and swel

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 17 - Dec. 23)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all though the GA house not a creature was stirring, not even a bear, penguin, wolf, eagle, zombie, tiger, cat, or Cindy Lou Who. The stockings were hung by Steve's dryer with care. In hopes that St. Myr soon would be there The GA community were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of naked men, or women, danced in their heads. And Valkyrie in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap

On the 8th day of Christmas, by true love gave to meeeeee, divorce papers!!! 😮    Well, that isn't how the song goes  But if any of you do get divorce papers on Sunday, I am so sorry    To tell the truth, all I can remember from that song is the five golden rings, two turtle doves and a penguin in a pear tree  This shall lead into the question of the week! Hmmm, do I have a question of the week every week? So rather than just asking what your favourite Christmas song is, I want to know

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 3 - Dec. 9)

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas   I may have mentioned we had a big dump of snow before Halloween, but that was all melted off since the first week of November. Then we have had temps in the mid to high teens without a drop of moisture until last Thursday. We got a good dumping of snow. I would like my Christmas to be white, but not looking like it as the temp will be in the mid teens (celcius) again next week. Maybe I will have to make a trip to the North Pole   In the mea

Hey! Last week we changed the clocks in a lot of places, who changed the days this week?   Up here in Western Canada, yesterday was Remembrance Day were we remember all the veterans and peacekeepers that all served in our forces and some that died doing so. It is actually a holiday I believe in all Commonwealth countries, but others do a bigger ceremony on other holidays. When I say Western Canada, I know we have it as a stat holiday. This means this weekend has me mixed up. We are taking M

Just a reminder to all, you have less than 2 months to get your favourite GA staff member their Christmas present.  Maybe I shouldn't say that, I will be like Harry Potter on Christmas morning receiving presents from his Aunt and Uncle and lovely cousin Dudley! One year a 50 pence coin which is 60 cents USD, a toothpick and finally a single tissue . Believe it or not, that is my first HP reference in my life   Now if you couldn't wait for Christmas, Val had an early present for you again th

Happy real Thanksgiving  At least to my Canadian friends.  You know what that means here, another day off for a long weekend or if you work on Monday, probably will be time and a half  Makes me thankful I live in Canada   This long weekend I find myself dog sitting at the dog's house. Not as in the dog house  but at the house the dog's live with their human friends. They wanted to put them in a kennel as they headed out of town for a celebration of life, but shall we say the doggies ar

Hey 😀 Hey 😊 Okay I now I have got my Heartstopper Season 2 out of me 😜 It is time for me use the oft not used word of remiss, which I would be guilty of if I didn’t remind y’all, or is it ya’ll, that you have 2 WEEKS TO GET YOUR LEAP OF FAITH ANTHOLOGY ENTRY IN!!! Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 03 - Sept. 09)

Did you put away your whites? I boxed up my white jeans, my white joggers, my white cargos, my white shorts, my white undies, my white socks, my white shirts (dress, polo, t, and others), my white sneakers, and white jackets and even my white belt .  Now what am I talking about ? When I was growing up, the saying was you could not wear white after Labour Day. Where that came from, I have no clue. But being the fashionista that I am, I don't do any of it . Sort of a rebel with a cause .

'Wasting away in Margaretville' RIP Jimmy Buffet. I got to get wasted in Margaritaville in Capitola, CA  Always impressed whenever I heard a new song of his  At least we have his music to remember him by    So what are you up to this Labour Day long weekend if you get it? I'm off to our usual later than most Pride Parade tomorrow. Hoping the T-Storms hold off to the evening.  It is 2:10 AM in my neck of the woods, so let's wrap last week up Monday, Cia presented us with the CSR D

Whew it was warm out today. Even with lots and lots of sunscreen, I'm a little red . Luckily when I got home around dinner time, I sat down and turned on Netflix and much to my surprise season 3 had appeared on a series that I really liked the first two seasons of in the spring, Ragnarok. I'm not sure if I plugged it here before or not , but if not, it is about Viking mythology, in todays setting 😮  Before you all run off and jump on your longboats to pillage and plunder unsuspecting p

Nothing to complain about age this week  I wanted to discuss something, but this blog would be then directed to the Pit   Let's talk about unicorns 🦄   I'm a big Tolkien fan and I have no difficulty after reading the stories and believing that all the species that are in Middle Earth, might have at one time been actually on earth. Like maybe prior to the dinosaurs and Middle Earth was destroyed due to some calamity too. Or, what if we finally find life on another planet and it is

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 6 - Aug. 12)

I think I am going to rename this blog from Weekly Wrap Up to Steve's aging blog   My question to you this week is this. Do you know you have something to do, but before you get to it, you are distracted by multiple other things?  Case in point, I sat down over an hour ago to start on the Weekly Wrap Up, didn't happen. Logged into GA, noticed the few notifications so started weaving my way through those. Then there is a few topics that I'm following that I see people posted on. Then I like

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 30 - Aug. 5)

Well we just had a false alert go off in my GA and I'm 100% blaming Myr  He made misleading comment about one of the better selling gay books becoming a movie. So naturally I ran to Amazon Prime to watch it. To heck with the Weekly Wrap Up until much later  I get to Prime and I'm thinking those rat bastardsions, they are not showing it in Canada!!!  Then go back to the post and see it is only a trailer on YouTube. I seem to be doing this more and more often, not reading everything. Is it ag

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 23 - Jul. 29)

Hello 😎 First off, I want to thank the ever elegant Cia for taking care of the wrap up for me last week  I think we will keep her around for a bit   Actually, with all your talk of bears, i had to leave my campsite temporarily as they tracked a gizzily momma and two clubs right close to our tent and campsite , but I survived. @Bill W, I can now say I survived the bears and the bares  Now if it was a blue bear, no bets on who would have won that one. I have to admit to myself, as I
