Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 28 - Jan. 3)

Oh wow! 2026 you say   First off, to Myr and the rest of the GA community: With all the days off last week, if you got them, I didn't know what day it was . I forgot it was Saturday, but I'm going to blame a extra long turkey hangover in not doing the Weekly Wrap Up. Then Myr posted the stories for the week and a gentle reminder/hint, that if anyone (me) wanted to add more, to stay tuned. I tried  I really, really tired . After my 3rd attempt to add in the all the blogs and the WOTDs, and l

We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas  🎄🎅  I just realized that this is Christmas eve, eve, eve, eve Wrap Up   Now I'm sure not everyone is in the same boat, but due to Canada having Christmas and Boxing Day as stat holidays, we will work M, Tu, We, we will be off for 4 days straight if you don't work weekends! 😮 I know not everyone is so lucky  especially if you work in our much appreciated essential jobs, fire, police, paramedics,

Here I am at nearly 3 AM but not tired  Just finished watching the last episode of my newest, favouritist, show on steaming streaming TV   Enough about that   I want to ask a different question this week, and one that might be difficult to answer  You only get to give 1 response and 1 answer. I know this might be cruel and unusual punishment to you all . It might be personal, it might indirectly upset you  . Hang in there though, I know you can do it. I have faith in you all!!   I

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 30 - Dec. 6)

The end is nigh! Soon, we shall put this all behind us   I'm talking about 2025! We are in the final 100 yards of a 400 yard dash. We are in the final 3 minutes of a football game, we are about 150 yards out from the flag on a golf course on a Par 6. We have securely made it into December. Only about 24 days left in 2025 and less if you live like in Australia or Fiji  For some reason I want to go to Fiji. I don't think it is is cheap though . I know the whole March and April lion

Weekly Update (Nov. 23 - Nov. 29)

Yet another month is gone in 2025. So what did you get done in the past 11 months that you needed to complete in 2025 ?   Let's see, um, er, hmm, I don't know. I guess that is the advantage of not making New Year's Resolutions, nothing to complete  I guess it is always prudent to have a plan for your future. Hmm I'm sounding like me mom and dad 😮  So did you spend any money on Black Friday if they have it where you are? Any plans to spend on Cyber Monday? Not sure if around you neck of

I'm mad! 😠 I'm irate! 😠 I'm absolutely livid! 😠  So someone told on me!! Told the US that I mistakenly took US Thanksgiving last week instead of the upcoming one. Now my green card lottery entry has been cancelled over it 😮 !!! I can think of one 'tuckian that would have reported me. No not you @astone2292   Okay, just kidding. All above is fictional and untrue.   The fact remains that I honestly thought it was this past week that Americans took most of the week off for

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 9 - Nov. 15)

😮  Ever wake up in the morning and see something and know you have to do something about it? No, I'm not referring to that, guys .  I did that this morning. I opened the fridge and I have to admit it was pretty bare. The thing is when you see your bare fridge, you probably going to notice it needs a really good cleaning! So there I am at 8 this morning with everything fitting onto one shelf, and pulling out the other 3 shelves, the two crispers and meat tray, and all the door pockets.

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 2 - Nov. 8)

Is it cold in your neck of the woods 🥶 I heard it was getting below zero (32F) in southern parts of the US of A 😮 In November! I imagine I'm going to hear from our Florida contingent that it is getting down to 70F in the evenings   So an interesting week has come to a close. Scratch that, it wasn't an interesting week. It was kind of the 2nd week of November blah week. Now if it was your birthday, then I missed the bright, shiney happiness of the week! You should have included me to li

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 26 - Nov. 1)

YAWN  You know what? I could use another hour of sleep tonight   Yes, in North America it is that time of the year where if you have such a thing as Daylight Savings Time, it is coming to an end in a few hours. I do find it funny that since tonight we are getting an extra hour of sleep, so to speak, there is less bitching than if we were losing an hour  Oh sorry, putting forth a compelling argument without any emotion involved. Is that better?   Yesterday was Halloween 😮 Did you d

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 19 - Oct. 25)

Whoa!  Stop the clock!! Who said we could be a week left in October already 😮 I mean, less than a week to Halloween 🎃, 4 weeks from 'merican Thanksgiving, 2 months away from Christmas🎄. When did summer end? Oh wait, we've had our first snowfall already but where I live that can happen 12 months a year   Speaking of Halloween... next Friday! Any plans for you? I live in a secured building, no it is not a prison  🔐  . We don't get kiddies trick-or-treating, so not going to buy any c

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 12 - Oct. 18)

One week was in the books, and now, so is the second week! I'm talking about snow storms   No, I'm talking about the Yearly Anthology. I know a few of you read all the stories after week 1, have you done so after week 2? I"m going to keep tonight short and sweet  I have an overnight guest , and it isn't Brad . So quick question for GA Land, how many of the anthologies have you read so far? Jumping right into what happened the past week, we had some interesting blogs. Monday,

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 5 - Oct. 11)

**Sigh** It is pouring out. Yet an hour to the west, in the foothills where I just came from a Thanksgiving dinner, it is not raining but snowing like crazy. We are supposed to wake up in the city to a blanket of snow.  **Sigh** Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow cannuckle heads! I hope you are having some time to be around either friends or family and enjoying carving up Tom on this festive holiday  There is at least one thing you are thankful, let's hear what it is. Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 28 - Oct. 4)

Rain, rain, go away and come back another day   Why you ask? They said such rain may just turn into the s*** word overnight  While some people might be laughing their heads off, all I can wish on them is to have a long, damp, wet, rainy, cold winter  You know who you are   So a big huge thank you to Cia, my favourite admin the past 2 weeks , for helping me out with the Weekly Wrap Up. I'm glad you all showed her your love   I was off to Vancouver for a week to visit with family an

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 21 - Sept. 27)

While Wildone is still off being his wild self... I'm bringing you the blog. I am SO not wild! My day consisted of cleaning, laundry, running errands with my daughter to Daiso for lined sticky notes (my FAV for work) a stop at the local health food store and Kroger (titled Fred Meyers) to top off my grocery shopping. I did find some delectable looking peaches... so make of that what you will!  Hopefully you all are making the most of the weekend! What are your wild and crazy plans? Are you polis

Happy Fall, or Spring depending on your hemisphere  Not sure about you, but we are sitting about 6-10 degrees Celsius above our normal temperatures.  Now before you all say it is all the hot air coming from me, we can test that theory. I left for Vancouver on Saturday morning. Thank you Cia for putting in the stories this week and doing the wrap up next week  . So we will see if Calgary cools off, and Vancouver heats up. Actually that would be good for the ego as I think I could say I'm hot

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 7 - Sept. 13)

I really need to start using my calendar and putting in reminders to do the Weekly Wrap Up  Either that or retire and go to one of the homes that someone keeps pressuring me to go to   My apologies for being late again.  Let's get this done!! Monday, we had a super-duper review from @spike382 on a story that sounds very interesting. If the review doesn't grab your attention, then hopefully the story cover art  will : Tuesday, @Myr did a nice dive into the all the kissy-kissy

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 31 - Sept. 6)

What a rollercoaster of a week! 😮  It was a lot of highs , it was a lot of lows . No, I did not borrow this from Dickens . Yet I, and you hopefully made it through it. I, like others have noticed the huge switch has been flipped since we hit September here in my neck of the woods. It seems like it was late June and I was talking about the sun being seen close to 10:30 at night. Now, it is like at 6:15 someone turned the lights out and we all went to bed for the fall and winter  Maybe

Weekly Update (Aug.24 - Aug. 30)

Like wowsers  ! Where did the summer go? In my neck of the woods, Labour Day is the unofficial last day of the summer season. Not that we will have a blizzard blowing in on the 2nd, although some people think that happens in Canada  (not naming names) and yet we still have summer weather all month. Just things kind of slow right down. Resorts are quieter, kiddies are back in school, big kiddies are in uni/college/trade school, etc.  I decided to take a work week out of town last week

Weekly Wrap Up!

Wow! What a week of the ever so popular Secret Author contest, I guess we could call this SA Week. We found out who was connected to which story  We also found out the winners of the most popular story from Readers and Authors. Congratulations to @impunity and @Thirdly respectfully. It turns out that Thirdly didn't write all of the stories 😮 I guessed all of them were written by Thirdy . At least I got 1 right  Just before posting my guess, I noticed the rules about only one story per author. I'

Weekly Update (Aug. 3 - Aug. 9)

I took the desktop into a shop. $45 for the diagnostic and they couldn't find anything that was causing such a slow boot up. He was actually surprised it took over a 1/2 hour or more before starting up till you could even start any app or browser, then another 15 mins before typing into a browser   He called and since I backed up all my files on the cloud ☁️ I went with the cheaper option for him to reformat the hard drive and install Windows 11 on it again. Just means that I had to load al

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 22 to Aug 2)

Hello GA'ers  Or would that be GA'yers  I like GA'ers better   So thank the unusual weather here in my neck of the woods. I got woken up by a thunderstorm and have kind of been watching the lighting storm lighting up the bedroom. Whilst doing so, I said to myself, 'Self, did you do the Wrap Up last night before bed?' I knew I had not, so here I am at 3:15 AM wrapping things up   I was out to a smaller town called Golden, BC the past few days. Took two my my nephews to the highest suspe

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 13 - Jul. 19)

Sadly I think it is happening  I think my desktop is coming to a end of its lifespan. Two days ago, it started doing a split screen of webpages on its own. No, this was not my double vision . Then I lost sound. Then finally it was on, but nothing on the monitor  I turned it off for a day and tried to use my iPad in its place and that seemed to just piss me off 😜 I like to type with a full keyboard and screen(s) personally.  This evening I gave it one more try. Turned it on, let it go throug

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 29 - Jul. 05)

It was a party of North America the past week  Well, we have to wait for Mexico in September. Yes, Canada threw a party on Tuesday and the US of A had one on Friday. I have to admit, a Friday one sounds better  It was a weird work week. Work Monday, off Tuesday, and then back Wednesday to Friday. I woke up this morning thinking I had to go to work. Didn't take that long to get my head screwed on right and headed back to bed at 6 AM   So I had a hotdog to celebrate America's birthday y
