Trials and Tribulations - Chapter 13

I have finally finished chapter 13 and have it published now. I'm sorry for the delay on this chapter and hopefully chapter 14 will be out soon, perhaps next week.   Someone mentioned that this chapter was a little shorter, and it was, but it felt like the place I to end with what's coming in the next chapter. Soon 83, I learned how to enjoy my age

In 9 weeks, I will reach my 83th birthday. It seems to me that my brain is still the same as 43 years ago, with perhaps just the fact that it works at a slower pace. Day 33, Day 34, Day 35, Day 36

Day 33- March 27th   Continued working on Box 2.   Day 34-March 28th   Someone showed me a diploma from the Indiana State Normal School, from 1910. (That was IUP's name when it was a teacher's college.) It was interesting to read it, because the diploma listed all of the subjects that the person was able to teach. How to take nasty jabs?

I'm not sure how to start this and not get lost in too much explaining and details. OK, so the shortest version possible, hopefully not too simplified.   Everyone has some soft spots. Some people have less, some people have more. For me, one of the biggest ones is self-dignity and how others perceive me. I know I should not care but I do. Here a beta, there a beta, think I'm nearly done a beta

Okay I fell behind. There is no other way to put it. I took on a few writers who all happened to have work for me at the same time and I fell apart. So now I am playing catch up.   For those who follow the writers I work with, I'm sorry. They aren't getting out because, well, I'm behind.   I'm nearly all caught up now. Day 29, Day 30, Day 31, Day 32

A passing and remembering

Funny, my day this morning started so normal and I was feeling up. I was working back and forth between two beta projects. Finally getting things done. A break at last

I think most of us get caught up in our lives from time to time. Mine has been a bit busier than I'd like and I have been unable to focus. It is something that happens to the best of us at one point or another.   For those following the odd bits and pieces of my life, Dad had his skin cancer removed last week and the doctor is happy with the way he is healing. Now that I'm in London

ASB 2012

I just got back from a week in Tennessee, helping to build new paths for the Cumberland Trail. We stayed at a lodge in a small hole-in-the-wall called Soddy Daisy, with kids from schools all around the East Coast and Mid-West.   I can't put into words just how wonderful that experience was. So I have had more than my fair share of interviews over the past couple of months. Day 27, Day 28

Day 27, March 6th   Today I continued working on Box 2. I found an envelope of newspaper clippings- the envelope was a big manila envelope with "Philadelphia Convention July 1958" on front, so we kept the envelope.   I also found a 50th Anniversary Gettysburg Commission memo, which was great because there's a photo of the 50th Anniversary Gettysburg camp out displayed in the museum. I have written the first act of a play with a lot of issues, technical and structural, and i am not sure if i should post it or not for the spring anthology. It isn't controversial or experimental like my usual short or long stories. However to me, it is definitely different, I've never done a play or written lines like these. Blessing among the ashes

Life has a way of trying to equal things out. I don't mean that everything will be perfect just that when things begin to slide out of control help will be there when you need it.   The last two weeks have seen the wind taken out of my sails. Am I the only one stoked about the new Sins? And no it's not religious :P

Yes, it's not politics or some hot guy, but it is just really fun. I hope I am not the only one into it.   I've been playing the Beta for Sins of the Solar Empire: Rebellion and it is just so addictive.I can't enough of the huge space battles or the new ship classes that they came up with. It's an awesome game on its own, but this new addition makes it even more.
