Rest in Peace Carlos. You will be greatly missed by all. GA authors will be a quieter place without your wonderful stories, humour and witty comments.

Oh Carlos... He had a presence as big as his heart, always a good word to make us laugh and stories we get to keep as pieces of him in our hearts. 

I am heartbroken. GA will not only be quieter in your absence, but it will also be poorer. Carlos, you have been a good friend and will be missed by many and will be missed for an eternity. You will be remembered with love and in your writings, you will forever be a friend, godspeed and god bless.

I know that many others will share my feelings, his friends here at GA, and his family and friends in the real world who knew him personally, my heart goes out to you all.

I have no words. Carlos was a great author and someone who would be brutally honest with you in order to make you a better writer.  He challenged me to reach beyond what I thought I was capable of.

It’s such a weird experience to unexpectedly lose someone you didn’t know but that you understood and respected. Carlos’ death is both real and remote at the same time for me. It’s something that is hard to process. Carlos was a vibrant and opinionated man and there’s no saying otherwise. Oh, my. He is going to be missed by so many of us.

My heart's been ripped out. Carlos was an instrumental mentor to me. He encouraged and lifted me. Taught me how to write and simplify my writings. He was someone I looked up to, not only as an author but as a human being. 

Rest in peace, Carlos. 

Carlos was one of the first people I ever interacted with on GA and left a lasting impression on me.

There are so many excellent authors on GA that I was just beginning to get familiar with his excellent work.I will continue to do that so it can be argued he will always be alive through these excellent works and the excellent authors here who he influenced positively .

RIP

I had just started reading Carlos' work and like many others stunned at the news. Gay Authors is so much richer with the talent and work he shared. Somewhere out in the multiverse Carlos is writing and riding.

I have no words. Carlos was one of a few authors here for whom I silently competed against lol. He was honest and encouraging and sometimes frustrating to interact with, but he always wanted the best from everyone.

I cannot believe he is gone.

Devastating news. 😢

I've stopped here a couple times since the blog went up. I tried to write something each time and couldn't. To say I'm heartbroken would be an understatement. Carlos, you were my friend, mentor and teacher. You became someone very special to me and my husband. Writing truly became fun while working with you. I will miss our chats and seeing your edit notes that continually said, "simplify." The world feels just a bit dimmer without you. I love you, Big Daddy.

Sad news 

I remember a time when he posted picture after picture of T-shirts in the Gallery here. It drove me insane  I remember that fondly now. 

RIP Carlos 

Carlos was the one to reach out and ask if I would be interested in becoming a Promising Author. He critiqued my writing, and he made me a better writer. His volume of work he leaves behind is vast, and people will read, and know his name for many more years. A legacy.

To be honest, I am surprised at just how gutted I feel upon learning this. This is truly devastating news. Carlos and I had a long and varied history, both of us proud men who started writing  on GA at basically the same time. Such conversations we had. Our friendship, while sometimes volatile, was one that lasted, and I believe was based on mutual respect. I certainly respected him, admired him, and cared greatly for him and his passion... for life, writing, and his strong, never held back opinions. He was one of a kind, and he is irreplaceable. I wish I could speak directly to him one more time because there are things I'd like to say that I didn't when I had the chance. Rest in peace, friend. You will not be forgotten and I am grateful to have known you.
