DarkPrince Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Since we have yet to hear from our fearless leader who may or may not hang out on cliffs. I thought I would like to hear which story to date by C.James do you guys like and why. Also if you have thoughts on what story or sequel you would like to see from C.James, tell us about it. Now my favorite story is.... Omg it's hard to just pick one, but I loved circumnavigation. As for a follow up story I'd like a story maybe a small one for the characters of changing lanes and circumnavigation just to see where they are in life now. Or a good novel based on love in and around my area. Edited August 8, 2015 by DarkPrince 2
MikeL Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I agree with you on Circumnavigation. It is my favorite from C James for its strong characters and nonstop action. It is also the world's second longest novel published in English: 1,082,090 words. It trails Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust (1,267,069 words) and is well ahead of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (587,287 words). I'm sure C J is not resting on his laurels. Something great is coming. 2
Phantom Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Figures, the goat is having us hanging off a cliff awaiting his return... 2
Daddydavek Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Circumnavigation is my favorite opus of his works. It held me in thrall for about three years.

I am with everyone else so far in saying Circumnavigation is my favorite, of course it almost a year ago, but the thing that stands out (other than the characters) were the places. I now want to travel to Australia because of this novel CJames brought these places to life and I want to see them with my own eyes. Edited August 9, 2015 by Drew Espinosa 3
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 9, 2015 Site Administrator Posted August 9, 2015 I'm going to differ and select Let The Music Play as my favourite. While I thoroughly enjoyed Circumnavigation, I've always found Brandon's struggles to survive and then prosper more touching. 3
DarkPrince Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 That was a great read too. I truly love all of C James work. And I did not know about circumnavigation being the secondnlongest English novel in the world. That is awesome and I feel accomplished knowing I read the whole thing. Lol. 1
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 10, 2015 Site Administrator Posted August 10, 2015 Well...all the lists of 'longest' novel I've seen exclude self-published/Internet novels. So in comparison to published novels, Circumnavigation fits between numbers one and two. But that's not comparing it to other Internet novels. I don't know how it fares there, especially when you have stories that may be broken into multiple 'books' but the author may consider to be one story in multiple parts. Examples include Mark Arbour's CAPS series, Bill W's Castaway Hotel series, Comicality's GFD and The Secret Life of Billy Chase, and elsewhere on the Internet, the still incomplete The Scrolls of Icaria by Jamie. 1
Emi GS Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Like the most as far as I read the stories here, but in particular I love the GFD series by Comsie... That was the story which brought mere to GA...

Emi GS Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 LOL. Is Comsie a goat too? Never, I intentions are very clear that I love his stories... Not that I wanna make someone a goat, especially not Comsie...
Emi GS Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 And I Like 'Let the Music Play' from C James's...
Site Administrator wildone Posted August 11, 2015 Site Administrator Posted August 11, 2015 I will differ too D.P. asked for a story that you'd like a sequel or know more about, and CJ has already provided it to us. Jake, was a sequel to his anthology Three for Jake. What I liked about this story the most was that he took a subject that many have tried really hard to make seem real and actually made it feel real for the fist time. At the end of the story you can actually relate to this different mix working out instead of having more doubts than feelings of it all working out. Check them out
DarkPrince Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 So many wonderful stories. So excited to see what he has planned for us next.
KevinD Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Each CJ story has bean great for differing reasons. I agree with Greame's comments though, Brandon's struggle were so wrenching at the beginning, that his amazing break and slow climb up and out of his hell was done amazingly well. My appreciation for Let the Music Pay in no way however, takes anything away from my love of Circumnavagation. Though I would love to see a follow up to Circumnavigation, I'm very hard pressed to come up with any ideas of how CJ could indulge us in our wish to see our four teens somewhere in the future. No matter what it might be, I will be so happy to see and read anything that CJ and his team will hopefully soon share with us...
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted August 23, 2015 Site Moderator Posted August 23, 2015 It is difficult to choose one. 1
Will Hawkins Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 I am casting a vote for Circumnavigation as it was the first story in GA that I ever read. I just happened upon it by accident and stuck with through the whole thing. Mark Arbours series Bridgemont would be a strong number two, but apparently, he has dropped it with the ship and crew stuck off in the Baltic Ocean. I am waiting, however Mark. Now we shall see what happens with James and 'Let the Music Play'. I have just started that and notice there is also a second book. 1
Will Hawkins Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Though I feel that whatever story by C James I am currently reading, is my favorite, I would have to say that Circumnavigation is my all-time favorite, probably because it was the first one I read and also my introduction to the treasure chest of stories on GA. We always remember our 'first time' with a rosy aura, don't we? 3
Benji Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 😎.....….…..It is a hard choice, but in the end Circumnavigation won out! It also expanded my spelling skills in learning how to spell it! 2
EMoe57 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Any of his stories in which my name is NOT used for one of the characters 😱 3
Site Administrator wildone Posted March 23, 2020 Site Administrator Posted March 23, 2020 I'd say that Three for Jake is one of my all time favourites. It takes a hard subject to write in my mind, one that would be hard to believe in reality, but he nailed it 2
