So here’s a question: what is your scariest word?

I know context matters, but despite that, what’s the word that you use - or have read - that most send shivers down your spine? I’ll also accept short sentences.

Riley

**NOTE: We've taken 'Scary Word' to the next level and have begun incorporating into the first para of a story. Why not have a go?**

Since my grand daughter who is not yet a teenager has suddenly blossomed and looks like she's 16 going on 17, my scariest word is a phone call:

"This is the police...."

Maybe it's your mother poking around your room and saying, "What's that?"

My sister's name.

When it shows up on my caller id during working  hours I have an anxiety attack. She never calls me at work unless someone is seriously ill, attempted suicide or is dead or dieing. Outside of business hours it's still scary, just not as bad.
