Popular Post kbois Posted February 14, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 14, 2021 Hi everyone! Happy Valentines Day. Not really a favorite holiday of mine, mostly because I think you should celebrate love everyday. I'd much rather get a text out of the blue that says 'I love you' than a card on a Hallmark holiday. Have a good day, stay safe, warm and dry. We're supposed to get rain for the next few days, and unlike most of you it's going to be unseasonably warm, which means humid. 💘🥰 7

Good note, lady that owns the horses I was asked to move in the wee hours tomorrow am ( when the icing is supposed to happen) has decided I am right and it isn't worth risking the 2 hour drive. Means I dont have to load horses in winter weather at 4:30 am to have em at a show by 6:30. Hubby did the grocery thing while I had prepped the trailer, so now we can batten down the hatches and stay warm. 7

But if you throw in an offer of taking the next cat 3 or higher hurricane that puts us in the bullseye, I might think about it! Glad you're able to hunker down. Edited February 14, 2021 by kbois 5
Popular Post Kitt Posted February 14, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 14, 2021 Hurricanes dont frighten me as much as even a quarter of an inch of ice. Mom went into what turned out to be false labor with me during Hurricane Donna, and we all know the impact Sandy had on the Jersey shore. ( The official "ground zero landfall" was 20 miles from my house. We've test fired the generator, have fresh fuel in the shed and hubby is off tomorrow for Presidents day. Full bottle of propane and the camp stove are on the back porch. The spice bottles I use for driveway salt are full and by each door. We are as ready as we can be. 8

Popular Post chris191070 Posted February 14, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 14, 2021 Hey Everyone Sorry I've not been around much lately. I'm doing ok, the kidney stone and stent are causing me alot of pain, so I'm on painkillers and kidney meds which have the downside of making me tired all the time. Hope everyone is keeping well. I did read all the comments about how many inches you all had. 4 4

Quiet is good. 4 1

I grew up in South Florida I have vivid middle school memories of being in the bathroom with a mattress over me for hurricane Andrew. 5

I'm supposed to get my first Covid shot on Thursday also. However it's forecast to be snow/ice here in the DC area on Thursday morning so I'm hoping they don't cancel it and reschedule. I want to get this done so I can get back to playing live poker at the casino! 5

Calling to verify doesn't always help here in the NYC metro area. Ine lady booked at the sight closest to her home, a 45 minute drive for her. Confirmed by email with a conformation number. Reconfirmed by phone day before. Son took day off to drive her. Called in morning for open confirmation due to weather. Drove 45 min, and gets turned away as her zip code was not on the approved list. Really? Same zip she listed in all previous contacts. 1 3
kbois Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 I'm pretty sure that I'll be eligible for the Covid vaccination by the time the next once-in-a-lifetime pandemic hits. Florida is majorly bass-ackward. The residents here are pushing to have large group gatherings again. Ummmm....nope. I might consider something they can hold outside. I'm going to ask my manager if maybe we can purchase a few 10x10 canopy tents and they can be set up outside with a select few people allowed inside to access the kitchen. Not very many of them have been vaccinated yet and they aren't the best at mask wearing complicity. Hope everyone has a good day! 4

I think the way it's set up is that they email you if the shot is delayed or postponed due to weather. I'm getting mine at one of the mass vaccination sites, it's at Six Flags in Maryland. I wanted it there because you don't have to even get out of your car. I'll have to check emails that morning since my appointment is 815am. I don't really care about snow, I'll just take the Jeep and not the Sonic. 1 4
Fae Briona Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 "The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) has implemented Level 3 of its energy emergency plan." Seems there is a shortage of CNG plus increased load and that's causing problems w. the grid. Almost had rolling blackouts here but they were cancelled at last minute -- but may come back. 4

I lost my car keys on the Superman coaster there not long after we moved to Maryland. Had one of those keys with the computer chip. Had to wait for my brother in Mass to send me a new one. The local dealer wanted over $100. My brother worked at a dealership at the time so he got me one for free. After I got it we found a magnetic hide-a-box with a spare key 🤪 4
