Oooh is it the kind that changes color or the kind that changes light pattern or both? 

 

I'm one of those weirdos that starts the Christmas enthusiasm on Nov 1.  

I think it's because my childhood was so joyless and harsh even in the holiday season that I am super extra about it now.  Sweaters, cookies, eggnog while we decorate the tree,  "family" game nights. 

 

But it's not the same for everyone and that's ok.

You do what makes you happy. We all have our own ways to celebrate things.

It's nice. I put it up this early because it was delivered and it was easier than taking it down to the locker for 2 weeks. So, tim has fluffed it up and it's ready to hang things on.  Usually, we'd wait to mid-December too. I think he'll wait a bit to finish it.

I'm on board for all of it except the sweaters. I'll substitute a holiday t-shirt.

We got a new tree last year similar to that. It has six or seven settings, white or multi-colored, steady or blinking. My son promised to help out seeing how I'm working 6 days a week and hubby has mandatory overtime. Pretty sure the ornaments will end up clumped together, but that's what makes it endearing.

I'm usually done by this time. I feel lucky to have gotten the outside lights up. I'll work on the inside a little at a time.

Garlands are a nice touch.

Previously, we’ve always had a 7ft tree, but there was a nice 6ft one at Canadian Tire that just happened to be on sale for half price so that was lucky. 

As it’s shorter and not as broad it will be easier for us to decorate.

SP bought a tree this year -- I made him promise to ramp up the Christmas decor slowly (the ex burned me out on it).

We'll use some of the floral from the wedding for the tree.

No hot water when SP took a shower last night - assumed the pilot had blown out in the 40+ mph winds the other day.  Woke up this morning to re-light the pilot to find water on the garage floor. 

Turned the water to the heater off, and put in a claim through my Home Warranty company. Hope they'll call soon.

Hopefully [fingers crossed] they'll be able to get the hot water heater installed today sometime.  Installer didn't think it would take that long for approval from the Warranty company, but the office person said it may take a full day.

I've now had a headache for two days, and I typically don't get them at all. My tolerance for this kind of pain is very low, and I'm not a fan. I'm pretty sure it's due to some headcold thing that's just beginning to hit, and I'm also not a fan of that.

Luckily I work from home most days, so I can have tea, be in a quiet space, and just do my work without a lot of extraneous stuff going on. I just hope this thing passes soon. Urgh.

I hope the rest of you are having a better day than me. 🙂

Hate that you're feeling ill. Maybe go get tested so you can rule that out.  Hope you're better soon.
