how is your Day going?

Right, i will go to the dining room and log on for work shortly.  Fingers crossed everything is working because it is a bitch to get stuff fixed now ... and no managers are around on Holidays.  In todays Ask An Author i've mentioned the World Wars and our pandemic... no, you cannot compare them, but each has affected people in different ways.  In one documentary we've watched someone said they expected that a lot of books would be written right after the end of WWII.  That wasn't remotely the case.

I know myself, i have zero desire right now to write about what this disease has done. i wrote about the aftermath of such a virus or maybe a worse one in After The Past. Maybe I'll write about COVID19 one day, but not now.

Like the Marines who did write, Helmet for My Pillow (Robert Leckie), With The Old Breed (EB Sledge), it took them time before they could write their story. 

I've been in a weird spot mentally lately thinking about men, and these men who fought back then and all the crap that is happening today... so i will stop rambling on and leave this...

Good morning, rick.

Up way to early this morning, so I’m on coffee no. 3. One bright spot is getting to see that we do indeed have raccoons roaming about - bigs ones to boot. Good to know because I was contemplating putting the garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk items (getting rid of broken laundry baskets this time) out Thursday night instead of getting up early Friday. Last time I did that the raccoons ripped open the garbage bag and made a mess, so with seeing them this morning, I’m getting up early Friday.

Nothing like having to collect and fix the garbage when the truck is in sight...

I remember when Ripley was still alive, getting up early to walk him when Michael was on nights. It was around 5am and there are townhouses around here with high fences.. and this one morning the dog was going nuts cuz what came over the fence was about 10 raccoons ... like a herd of them.. some big boys too.. they would have torn the dog apart, they outweighed him by at least 10 or 15lbs.  I dont think i'll forget that.

that so upsetting have to clean up after the raccoons here we have a possum that likes to do damage. he and our dogs play “cat and mouse” he stays just out their reach on the other side of the fence at night.

I had a dog when I was a kid. I can remember one time a raccoon was sitting on top of our fence looking down at my dog who was barking at him as dogs are wont to do. It was if the raccoon was saying “na, na, na, na, you cant get me!” Poor dog was beside himself because this critter was in his yard (fence extended into the garden).

Weird, I would have thought setting off fireworks when it is still clearly daytime was a colossal waste of well, fireworks. Not really going to see much I wouldn’t think. 🤔

I still remember the idiots - for them I almost called the cops, but they stopped, thankfully - who set off fireworks on the side street beside a gas station. I mean, really? 

Some people just have no brains whatsoever.
