Hey all. 

 

I'll chime in with I'm glad to have a group where I can share and find friendship but be comforted in that I am just a nameless leaf on a tree. I'm Sorry tim that someone pushed you to give out private details.  

 

Today I refinished a small desk for Little One to use in his schooling.  We are setting up a homeschool area since his kindergarten looks like it'll be online.

Just got a email notification. Graduation is back on!! They have decided to hold an in person graduation so the kids can receive their diplomas. Everyone must wear masks and stay at least six feet apart. No speeches or anything, just the handing out  diplomas, in full cap and gown, complete with mask and gloves!!! From what I understand the venue can hold 5000 people so spreading out shouldn't be an issue. Their class is not quite 250 kids. 

They have assigned times and have broken the kids into groups by last names. So A-F is scheduled from 7-7:15 and so on. The kids go in one door, only two guests per student allowed. No congregating allowed. Kids will walk across the stage when called. Parents will walk along in front of the stage. Student gets diploma, gets picture taken and then out thru another door. Get back in the car and done!

Our last name starts with B so we are in the first group!! No waiting around for this impatient momma! I'm so excited. This kid has been through so much, especially this past year and I am so freaking proud of him, I'm ready to burst. Gotta go pick up his cap and gown tomorrow!

That's great.  Though no long speech under heated sun that makes everyone pass out, but able to receive diploma in person, that's a big deal to some people!  Nice.

Thanks tim. It's def been hard on him not seeing friends.  I kind of want to make a pod with some other kindergarteners in his section so they could have weekly play dates. In person if they are agreeable to being a low risk pod, but Even if it's online, he would at least get to interact a bit.

I can't imagine having a little one in school during all of this. My mom was a teacher and I knew early on it wasn't for me. Kudos to you for making the best of a difficult situation! Kids of all ages are losing out on so much. Humans are such social beings and not being able to be with friends is hard on everyone. Good luck with everything!

I'm off today(and still woke up early 😕) My younger son has a dentist and and orthodontist appt today and seeing how Covid has shut down the DMV for driving tests, he still only has his permit and can't drive by himself yet. 

22 years of chauffeuring kids...the end is so close...and yet so far!🤣

Watched the end of that Last Panthers thing ... just too weird and poorly written ... at the end ... there is meeting of important E.U. leaders ... and nowhere was there any security except one guy on an outside door. Had there have been, it would have made running around the building hard, so why bother with realism. I'm sure E. U. leaders have no security of their own and the country where they are meeting never provide it!!!   UGH!

Then i went to bed, did some meditation and slept until the morons upstairs decided to drag bedroom furniture around for 45 minutes. That stopped about 1am.
