Ron Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 (edited) Frankie Goes to Hollywood came out in 1984. What a bang it made on the dance floor of Gay venues. But it was more than just a one trick pony … Relax was an immediate hit, but as time reaches on one begins to appreciate the greater achievement of the album as a whole work. One of those songs is worth a mention — Two Tribes. But, The Power of Love was ‘our’ song back then — when I was young and in real love for the first time … and, Keeping the Vampires from our door was a real thing, because other men were always out to steal something that they didn’t have … even if it was just for a night. I still remember all of words, though. Unfortunately, YouTube has made it difficult to replay the original video for most music. All that it use to require was touching the screen and then copying the url and pasting it here. The copying doesn’t work for me anymore. If you have a workaround please let me know. Ron Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 (edited) I listened to Benson Boone's (BB, not to be confused with {political snipe -removed}) new release. Meh! As I usually do (on some nights, although some nights more often than other nights ), I was listening to BBs newest (not that BB consists of my whole listening repertoire), while reading Stereophile magazine on a Friday evening on my computer. After reading a review of BBs newest release in WAPO, I wanted to "listen" to what the reviewer was on about. Unfortunately, I agree with the reviewer, and I will say, I can't add anything (please read the review if you can, sorry I can't post a link that works). After my forgettable listening session with BB, I went on to Wilco's Schmilco on Tidal @44.1khz/24-bit (slightly above CD quality) version of this music and I was blown away! LittleBuddhaTW Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 My favorite "new" song is "Who Believes in Angels" by Elton John & Brandi Carlile (would make a good story title, too). 1
