Root beer float.

Nice menu… apart from the item above.

I think I was an ice cream purist as a kid

I washed dirt today. Yup, that's what I said. I washed and strained 14 small bags of the organic potting soil for my aquarium because it had perlite in it(which is safe but could cause problems later if it escapes the sand cap I am putting on top of it) which floated to the top when I soaked it in water. I think I might have bit off too much. :unsure2:

Don't they make dirt specifically for aquariums? I've watched several youtube videos of a guy somewhere in Europe who creates large scale aquascapes and uses some special dirt under the sand/gravel for planting both submerged and emergent plants.

Yes, but it has its own problems, not being suitable for some plants etc. And, it is very expensive, as in astronomical for large tanks like mine. I am doing the Walstadt Method--- where Diane Walstadt recommends organic potting soil covered in two inches of sand. There are variations, with some recommending 3 inches of sand or gravel over an inch to two inches of dirt. I'm going with 1.5 inches of dirt and 2.5 inches of 2mm sand. :)

Rootbeer floats are classic. Someplaces in western PA at least call them "Brown Cows".

Yup. Served a lot of brown cows when I worked for A&W as a young'un.

That works as long as you do not have fish that like to dig in the gravel 😃
