Bondwriter Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Eric has been in quite a few chapters, playing an extensive role. He was involved a lot when Chris and Steve got together in the first few chapters, the chapter "homecoming" was about his return home, and he was featured a lot in the camera scenario, plus the camping chapters. What I meant is that he was much talked about, not necessarily present. Sure, he had quite a few scenes in the initial blackmail, and kept on lying about "having changed", "having learned from his errors", and all the BS that he may have given our heroes. And he did wish them a good day , and a good sun tan, as he left them staked out. Which is a feature of the villain leaving the hero in utter distress. And Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot weren't THAT bad, if you made a little effort getting to know them.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted May 19, 2007 Site Moderator Posted May 19, 2007 I have some questions to ask, CJ, what are you on and why haven't you passed it around to the rest of us to make us believe what you say about Eric? Jan

And Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot weren't THAT bad, if you made a little effort getting to know them. This is true; due to this being a first-person account, and Eric so often being on the run, he isn't actually present a huge amount of time. Good point. Hmmm, I think I see a new tagline for me... Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot weren't THAT bad, if you made a little effort getting to know them. ~ Bondwriter, 05-19-07 I have some questions to ask, CJ, what are you on and why haven't you passed it around to the rest of us to make us believe what you say about Eric?Jan But, aren't little brothers often precocious, and often a little annoying too? BTW, The title of the next chapter is "Unraveling".
Site Administrator wildone Posted May 19, 2007 Site Administrator Posted May 19, 2007 And Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot weren't THAT bad, if you made a little effort getting to know them. Now we all know that these 3 guys were probably the 3 most evilest guys to walk the earth. But do we hate all Russians because of Stalin? I don't. Do we hate all Germans because of Hitler? I don't. And do we all hate all Cambodians because of Pol Pot? Once again I don't. When we look at these three examples we have people who followed them, many unwilling, to carry out there wishes. This is where I think CJ is really trying to get across to us about Eric. Maybe we all should hate Eric at little less, and focus on him being influenced, positive or negative, by the evil Blackheart. Correct me if I'm wrong CJ. But then again I'm a bit liberal and also from Canada.

Bondwriter Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Well, well... I didn't imagine my ironical comment about the three blood-thirsty dictators would bring out a gathering of Eric fans. So now we have two distinct factions of pro and anti Eric. Interesting. Goats seem to lead the pro-Eric group. Is that this surprising?
Site Administrator Graeme Posted May 20, 2007 Site Administrator Posted May 20, 2007 I'm neither pro- nor anti-Eric. I simply would like him to receive just desserts (desserts are something to be prized, so I'm sure he'll love to receive them). As for who decides what is just... I'm happy for that to be Chris, Steve, Mr. Williams or Betty. I'd do it myself, but I'm a little busy at the moment.
Jack Scribe Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I'm neither pro- nor anti-Eric. I simply would like him to receive just desserts (desserts are something to be prized, so I'm sure he'll love to receive them). What an educational process we have on the thread. I'd always thought the expression was "just deserves" and was prompted to reference the Urban Dictionary: Just Desserts Def: what is coming to them; what "they" deserve. Example: She ran over my cat, but got her just desserts when she was hit by a bus. Whatever the case, dear Eric has a whole lot of aches coming his way. Let's consider an abbreviated alleged list: Extortion Grand Theft - several countsTrafficking porn involving minorsPossession of stolen credit cardsAttempted murderAssault (what he did before he shot the cop)Battery (having shot the cop)Resisting ArrestFleeing from authority (LVPD will get him on this one)Conspiracy to commit murder in the first degreeConspiracy to commit murder in the second degree Reckless discharge of a weapon with intent to harmPossession of narcotics (with intent to sell?) (Edited with Bondwriter and Allie's additional comments.) I'm sure I've forgotten a few more offenses this pile of jackal droppings has committed. Is it possible Eric will meet the ultimate "just desserts" at some point? Hmmm. If my calculations are correct, CJ has this timed so that the story will be resolved by Labor Day. Phew...I hope Steve and Chris have time for a little intimacy in the process. And will Thaddeous have a memorial service for Jerry Falwell? Jack
Bondwriter Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 You forgot possession of narcotics, possibly with intent to sell (but this has yet to be confirmed).
Bob D. Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Whatever the case, dear Eric has a whole lot of aches coming his way. You forgot: Assault (what he did before he shot the cop) Battery (having shot the cop) Resisting Arrest Fleeing from authority (LVPD will get him on this one) Conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree Conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree (yes these are two different charges and they can both be applied) Reckless discharge of a weapon with intent to harm (shooting the cop again/tranquilizing the boys) Don't know about hte drug charges, at best we know he has them... but there is little to no evidence so far... even with the drugscreen that wouldn't hold up in court as evidence that Eric purchased and supplied them, even with the boys witness testimony. The defense would have it noted they were both drugged at the time and have their testimony immediatly after being shot removed as unreliable... He's also got violation of parole in there from when shot the cop and disappeared... I'd have to check the charges list again later to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Bondwriter Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Now, we just have to wait for someone coming to say: "Well, why so much hatred? He who never has conspired to commit murder in the first degree, let him cast the first stone..." I wouldn't be surprised, but though Eric's defense lawyers have taken a pretty tough stance so far, I doubt they'll manage to save him once he faces the jury. They'll try, though.

I think Chris and Steve are more than adequate for this job. Chris, in particular, shows talent in undercover and covert operations.....

I'm happy for that to be Chris, Steve, Mr. Williams or Betty. I'd do it myself, but I'm a little busy at the moment. Dessert, eh? Well, if you insist, I suppose that can be arranged, Eric sat down at the table, meeting the glances of all those assembled for the occasion; Chris and Steve, officer Jacobs (his leg wound almost completely healed,) the two sheriffs, Betty making pleasant chit-chat with Reverend Thadious, as his brother unveiled the candle-bedecked double-chocolate fudge cake, the perfect dessert after a wonderful celebratory meal, as Chris lead them all in singing "Happy Birthday". What an educational process we have on the thread. I'd always thought the expression was "just deserves" and was prompted to reference the Urban Dictionary: Just Desserts Def: what is coming to them; what "they" deserve. Well, this might look bad for Eric, but there are a few other things so far, Blackmail, Kidnapping, Endangerment, Torture, Illegal flight to avoid prosecution, Assault with a deadly weapon (the dart gun and overdosed tranq) Plus a very long list of "Conspiracy to commits" FTL is currently planned for 40 chapters, so should wrap up in August sometime. I hope. :-) You forgot possession of narcotics, possibly with intent to sell (but this has yet to be confirmed). He did confirm it; During the stake-out he was griping about how much he would normally sell that much Ketomine for, so he's definitely running a sales buisness. (see? I told ya he was industrious) Don't know about hte drug charges, at best we know he has them... but there is little to no evidence so far... even with the drugscreen that wouldn't hold up in court as evidence that Eric purchased and supplied them, even with the boys witness testimony. He's also got violation of parole in there from when shot the cop and disappeared... I'd have to check the charges list again later to make sure I didn't miss anything. Don't forget, the eric/piedmont claim is that The guys staged the whole stake-out to frame Eric, becuase they were actually running the porn site themselves. And that incident occurred in Piedmont County, so we will just have to trust in the Piedmont legal system to see that justice is done. Looks like we may need to call in Detective Conner, along with Mark and Steve to help us solve this one. What do you think, Graeme?Jan ROFL! Indeed! LOL -- for those that don't understand the reference, Jan is referring to a round-robin mystery that was completed last year. I think Chris and Steve are more than adequate for this job. Chris, in particular, shows talent in undercover and covert operations..... The round-robin was "Collision," and excellent read! Chris does indeed show promise, though perhaps he needs some improvement in the "covert" department, such as learning not to take flash photos when trying to be covert.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted May 20, 2007 Site Administrator Posted May 20, 2007 Chris does indeed show promise, though perhaps he needs some improvement in the "covert" department, such as learning not to take flash photos when trying to be covert. But, CJ, I'm sure that flash photo was just part of Chris's clever plan to stop them from cutting up Steve's Charger! Look at how well it turned out -- sheer brilliance, if you ask me. Chris definitely has potential in undercover work -- knowing just when to break cover to save the day is a critical part and he appears to have mastered that....
Site Administrator Graeme Posted May 21, 2007 Site Administrator Posted May 21, 2007 This topic is so lost. Was it ever found? To the best of my knowledge, this thread has always been about 25% on some silly story, and 75% of general chatting and playful banter. We just need to get that first percentage down a few more points and I'm sure everyone will be happy.

But, Brother Emoe, you're forgiven, the chapters have been delivered on time. The legions of readers waiting to see if the car has been fitted with a bomb that would be triggered by crossing the county line will be grateful.

Anyway, chapters are on their way back to you now, CJ ...and congratulations on 1000 posts for your story thread and 3606th post for the postingist lurker I know! Hi Emoe!! You made the 1000th reply! And I think the post counter on my account must be broken. Why feed the goat's obsession with numbers? I'm glad no one celebrated over CJ taking the undisputed (and quite undisputable) lead in posting frenzy. But, Brother Emoe, you're forgiven, the chapters have been delivered on time. The legions of readers waiting to see if the car has been fitted with a bomb that would be triggered by crossing the county line will be grateful. Indisputable? But... But... But... I dispute that! As for any bombs, there either are, or aren't, and barring computer errors or internet outages, Ch 27, "Unraveling", will be posted in a few hours.
C James Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 (edited) I won't be posting the announcement until tomorrow but ... Chapter 27, Unraveling, is now up! :nuke: Edited May 22, 2007 by C James
Bondwriter Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Phew! Chris made it back to Lonesome Valley! I really thought the Piedmont's Sheriff Department would catch up with him. And Veronica's warth and Betty's ire are certainly more pleasant than being fed some lead directly through his body. I was pretty positive the pic wouldn't turn out OK, one more devious invention by CJ (see picture above). But with his bleeding ass, I hope they can nail the sheriff once and for all. What's the deal with him being a relative? More mystery yet. I noticed with interest the use of the verb "to tremble". And the little comment about California and DST. It's true a state that has a half hour time change is certainly more convenient. Nice chapter. The car didn't blow up, and impounded is better than torn to parts.
