    Chapter 1

We've always done it this way! A very powerful story, leaving one with much to think about.

    Forbidden

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
  3. As an ardent lover of science fiction, this is a great beginning, and I can't wait for the next chapter!
  4. Truly riveting and quite the example about how family secrets are most often than not, cancerous
  5. This was funny and adorkable in the best sense of the word!! I nearly fell out of my chair with this comment...

    Epilogue

Thank you for this Temogam is certainly Renn's equal, perhaps even worse...I look forward to the next book when it is ready!
  7. I don't trust the witch as far as I can throw her from this side of the keyboard... Who is Harlan Black, and is that his real name?
  8. A spellbinding thriller not to be missed!

    Chapter 19

I think a cold shower is needed

    Chapter 14

From the mouths of kids who say the most obvious things... Eventually she wandered over while Jackson and I were signing jerseys. She looked from him to me. "How long have you been best friends?" Silence. Jackson looked at me as though expecting me to answer. I looked back with equal uncertainty. He shrugged. "...We're teammates." The little girl nodded patiently. "So..." She smiled as though explaining something obvious to two particularly slow adults. "...best friends."
  11. Makes perfect sense... "You were just throwing a rager on the bridge of a Heavy Cruiser!" Hollis yelled, his patience snapping completely, the sheer, profound absurdity of the situation boiling over into absolute, furious exasperation. "And you're telling me you're worried about breaking a speed limit order?!"
  12. If, as our antagonist presumes...in the way and manner as it will, or is it...shall go... He drew once more upon the cigar, unhurried, savoring, I thought, the plain fear that had begun to show now in Julian's face. "You believe, I expect, that you are choosing a great romance. You may be choosing instead the exact manner and the exact hour of your own dying, and I promise you nothing gentle in the terms, only that the terms will be honored to their very letter, as they have always been honored, by me if by no one else in this whole wide and disappointing creation." He looked to me last, and the old cold amusement had returned entire to his face, no weariness in it now at all. "I have waited a hundred and fifty years to see what you would do with a second chance, Jack. I find I am rather looking forward to watching you lose it twice."
  13. Yet at the same time, they will allow a 13 or 14-year-old girl who has been raped, and in most cases...by a family member, to carry to term...Sadly, we are dealing with what I call P&C (pick and choose) Christians who cherry pick those parts of the bible that appeal to them and ignore the rest...

    Chapter 21

Both of them are still children emotionally...not ready for adulthood...
  15. So very true... Because sometimes the most extraordinary adventures begin with the most ordinary things. And sometimes all it takes is two people willing to look at the world a little differently.

    Crew

As a hardcore Sci-Fi aficionado, I'm hooked and looking to see where this goes... The possibility of a backstory here on the 'program' is intriguing...it is one hell of a hole card to play!! Del snorted. "Okay." He focused on me. "Fine, you've got expensive kit. It's legal. We could use it." He waved his hands over the table. "That's not disputed, and I won't pretend otherwise. That got you in the door. But now, you need to convince us why you get to stay."
  17. I still think that Lord Wrexham has ''dues'' to pay for his perfidy...Jonas was lucky he was able to get out of the river...and that he has Edward... Perhaps Lord Wrexham may have the ''funds'' for the molly house... It will be interesting to see how Will fits into all of this...
  18. I assume Thomas was more than a friend, and the insurance is a sad reminder of a tragic event. I think Oliver and Julien need each other now more than ever.

    Deployment

Carl has learned the lesson; here's hoping it sticks... With the operation about to start in Arizona, I am reminded of the old saying that the best battle plans rarely survive first contact with the enemy... Here's hoping all goes well!!! Things that make you go humm and wonder if.... Aday spoke up this time, “General Osbourne can make their lives a living hell.” “Carl’s dad is a General?” All five of them nodded.

    Chapter 19

A very poignant and touching chapter, learning how to keep the memory and to the letting go of grief... While the odds are against me, and it is beyond all hope, I still have the feeling that Sam is not far away...
  21. I get a kick out of the goat, either running wild across the countryside, eating mother's good linen, or providing food for some time. Reminds me of the old New England farmer who, when asked by a traveling tinker selling his wares, asked why his pig only had three legs, the farmer paused for a minute, looked the tinker directly in the eyes, and exclaimed... "Now you don't just go and eat the pig all at once, do ya?" I love the idea of a Molly House; the best insurance is to have the magistrates as ''valued or honored patrons.'' A business like this won't be a simple or quiet affair; it will attract all sorts of notice from the darker sides of the streets looking for their cut, a piece of the action...managing that will be crucial....
  22. One has to wonder...just how 'stable' is this alternate universe?

    Chapter 13

That explains it... Ben crouched beside us. "I watched a video once." "I'd rather you hadn't." "I remember almost all of it." "I believe you." Eddie peered at the tire. "Looks round." "It is a tire," Noah said. "Excellent observation." I smiled.
  24. Not at those prices, they knew they had a captive audience...and...it was all cashless transactions...
  25. I don't feel all is lost, given a day or two, along with a fresh perspective and an understanding of the time healing will take, and both will realize life will go on...
