    Anthology Check-In!

    Now that the Secret Author contest is behind us, it's time to focus on our next site event... the annual Anthology!  We have two themes this year - Horizons and Unspoken.  Which one is speaking to you?  Or are they both?  There's just about a month to go before the deadline to submit stories to me for the Proof Team to do their magic.  I've already had some stories come in, and I'm excited to see what else this anthology brings.  So, raise your hands... who's got something in the works for us?

Productivity Feels...Weird

I've had a love-hate relationship with the word, 'productivity.' With my occupation, it is highly encouraged to be as productive as possible, but it feels strange to see myself being the only one performing. I was reading a blog entry by @Comicality the other day concerning revisions of old stories. It struck a note (and has an awesome example of revision in an iconic scene from 'Star Wars') as I have lately been digging out some of my old stories and re-reading them. Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 31 - Feb. 7)

Well...  What a day today has been. I couldn't avoid a lot of stuff anymore so I had to go out in the freezing weather and get a bunch of stuffs done. Left the house at 8:00 and didn't get home to 3:30 😮 This is the weekend, aren't we supposed to relax and sleep in and take it easy?  So I'm curious, as after working 26 years in stores in retail, I know I didn't like when I heard people who talked about their Monday to Friday jobs. Where some of us in retail worked any day of the week.

Empty Nest

Words can’t express how proud I am of our daughter.  Today, J.J. became a home owner! This kid has worked her butt off saving to buy a house.  As a Paramedic, she works very long hours.  She works nights and weekends and sacrifices holidays.  When other kids her age were out partying, she was dedicated to keeping our community safe. J.J. did it all on her own!   Of course I’m nervous for her to leave the nest, but excited to see her grown. 😍
