Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 5 - Jan. 11)

    By wildone

First a disclaimer, I'm tired and none of me editors are around to read the wrap up for me   I hate to say but the first couple of weeks have been terrible for our US friends and neighbours it seems. With LA burning down and the east and southeast getting blasted by ice and snow, I have to say I hope that all of them are okay  I'm sure there is other places too that are having strange and wakey weather too, like Friday we had an actual thunderstorm (rain) and a blizzard Saturday night. We're not ready to let go of Comicfan as our resident prompt genius, so we are featuring his last prompts again, Prompt 892 and 893. If you would like, you can take a stab at either one for a lasting memorial to Wayne. Anyone that wants to, please post a prompt in honour of Wayne. I've created topics for each one of them, 892 and 893. Let us know in the below comments which one you did .   Prompt 892 - Creative  Tag - List of Words Use the following words in a story - a storm

Going West (in search of the bareback riders)

Never mind the title; that was just a cheap ruse to get some views. I know how your filthy minds work, but this is a family blog. It’s been more than three years since I last had a vacation, so now the restrictions have eased, I’ve decided to visit my sister out west. She is the third of my five sisters in terms of age and was the oldest of my adopted siblings still living at home when I joined the family as a young teenager. We bonded quickly, and she soon became my closest confidant.

July Classic Author Feature: Almost Home by Shadowgod

I've featured long reads, stories to take you to other times or places.... so how about we do another snippet of a week in the snow in the sunny heat of July in this bite-sized feature "Almost Home" by Shadowgod.  Length: 2,782 Description: There was nothing Bryson and James wanted more than to get away from the stress of college, and once Bryson had convinced him, James was sure that this ski trip was the perfect way to do just that. Their week together in the snow would turn ou

i just don't understand...

They're good kids, young adults, young men, mostly housebroken. They really are. But today i'd sell them to the gypsies. When we got the house put back together after the floors were installed they were told that at least twice a week the floors needed to be dry mopped, swept, and at least every weekend a good wipe down. Not even a full mopping, just use the Swiffer wet. We’ll  drag out the mop and bucket every other weekend. As long as it’s kept clean, and spills or whatever are wiped up r

R.I.P Comicfan (aka Wayne)

This is not a blog post that I thought I'd ever have to make, and it pains me greatly to write it now, so please bear with me. It is with a saddened heart that I must announce the passing of my dear friend, and fellow author, Wayne, aka @comicfan He's gone by many titles on GA over the years, though most of you may know him as the "prompt guru" who posted prompts every Friday to help get the writing juices flowing. Wayne was definitely one of a kind, and never had a bad word to say abo
